It's time to get this S.F camping thing back on track, so, Youlgreave. May 28th (Friday afternoon/evening to Sunday lunchtime)

Both tents and Caravans are welcome - although there's no electrical hook-up.

Church House Farm, although very much enjoyed by regular campers, is a great location for anyone coming for the first time. The farmer even offers to tug off those who get stuck!?!?! :o

It's a basic site in that facilities are essentially just toilets and a tap, but it's only about ten minutes by car from Bakewell and a mile or so from showers that we can access on another site - again a quick drive away.

Those of you who've been before will remember there's a river here too (as the mad gits who've already thrown themselves into it will know! ) If it's warm we might have a venture down there.

It's ridiculously cheap at £3 per person per night. Charges are payable on arrival.

As usual we'll be doing a BBQ on the Saturday night. Bring your own disposable BBQ (or arrange to share one with someone before you come) and whatever you want to eat/drink. Alternatively, as most of us do, you could buy on the day at Co-op in Bakewell - that way all your food won't have been sitting around in cool boxes since the day before.

Little ask. Could you all please bring at least one wax burning log to pop on the camp fire? These are a couple of quid each (usually available from supermarkets) and last for about an hour. If we all get at least one each we'll ensure we've got enough firelight to last the weekend (whatever's left over will be brought next time).

So, who's up for it? and has anyone got a postcode for satnav purposes? :)

Have you checked with the site as a couple of weeks ago they no longer had a toilet block. They were still open, just without the facilities.
Hopefully they have new loos now which should be better, but it's worth checking out, just in case.

If you end up at Haddon Grove you'll only be a 5 minute walk from the camping barn a load of us are already going to that weekend.

Yeah dear, you know where we will be that weekend, come for a day trip. I have worked it out and I think thats our 5th camping trip on May bank holiday this year. :)

There's a little one in the village which has the basics but we normally have a run into Bakewell for BBQ stuff.

If you get stuck for a tent give me a shout - there's a pop-up one here that you could use.

Sarah, Rich and Dan are getting there tomorrow lunchtime I think. They're due here in a few minutes so I'll find out. Foxforcefive said she might come on Saturday if she can make it (no idea about Ash) and Miles better is hopefully coming on Saturday night. AFAIK Shiesh is still coming but I've not spoken to her for a couple of days.

Foodwise we can talk about it tomorrow - but I suspect it'll either be BBQ Friday and Saturday or Pub meal Friday and BBQ Saturday. But whatever. It's all good. :)

what happened to the big green palace?

Oh the big green palace is still in service but problem is Hubby & eldest off on a football tour in Wales for 3 days so only me and the 2 other boys to camp. I've ordered a smaller tent from Decathlon but no guarantees it will arrive in time as there's no way I could put up the big green palace on my own nor would it fit in my car.
