View Full Version : I wonder how Blackwell is feeling tonight

Following on from the thread about how Irvine is feeling surely it is only right to ask how Blackwell must be feeling.

Having just missed out on the play-offs despite a lot of injuries, having cut the wage bill significantly and managed to keep crowds high despite repeated criticism from his own supporters, he’s now having to live with all the focus being on his under achieving neighbours.

It doesn’t seem right to me, in the name of humanity give the guy some attention and least comment on how he has done this year.

I don't know how he will cope.

I bet he's a bit miffed by this though, given the circumstances he's done well and yet all the attention is on Wednesday!

I think he wil be feeling ok, a top 10 finish after the horrendous injuries this season. Not saying I am his biggest fan, but he must think he did ok.

To be fair I think so as well, he's cut your wage bill and still finished the season well up the table.

Maybe you should have cut your wage bill.

lol . BET HE IS IN A FAR HAPPIER PLACE THAN IRVINE RIGHT NOW.

He may even have his feet up and planing his holiday already. Am sure he will be very pleased on your concern for everything United. But save your concern our season is over. Hence the forums interest in every thing Wednesday. Palace..Strafford and the old fav Relegation.

Shouldn’t that be the singular rather than the plural, remind me when your season ended, was it before the xmas tree came down?

i dont think blackwell will be feeling too bad, its pretty nailed on that he'll be there next year and so he can already plan his holidays and pre-season plans etc.

As said before me I'm sure Blackwell is overall feeling quite confident that he has done everything he could have possibly done this year, I mean we saw his press statement last month where he came out and said that he considered this his best job as a manager, what with all of the injuries that we have had and all of our loan signings. I outed myself as a Blackwell basher many moons ago and have to say I still maintain this point of view due to his tactical ineptness which on many occasions proves to lose us points, leaving players on the bench when obviously fit enough to play yet hiding behind it when his gamble does'nt pay off!

As for Irvine, trying to maintain a neutral point of view......... I'm sure he will feel he's let the fans down to a certain extent, in my opinion he's come in with plenty of time to spare to change Wednesdays fate. Ok money has'nt been available to spend for him however, If I was a wednesday fan I might sit and question whether he could have done more???

I imagine he's not happy, he's gotta pack for a night in Ipswich, then home to Sheffield and straight back out to Belgium first thing on Monday. Thats a lot of travelling in a short space of time........in answer to your question titty i'm gonna have to say - NOT HAPPY!!

As for all the focus being on Wednesday, thats like saying i'm not happy cos Fred West got more media attention than me, sometimes titty its nice to be a nobody!!!

After the deserved abuse Little Kev took after so many poor performances this season, most notably at Peterborough and that rotten effort against Scunny, i'm sure he's over the moon that no-one bar you has any major interest in talking about him at the moment.

He, like many of us on here, probably can't believe he survived a series of awful results and in particular performances. Better managers have got the bullet for less, he has to be grateful he fits into Big Kev's plans, at least for now.

Wouldn't be surprised if he was having a week away in the sun before the last game, as it's a meaningless fixture now anyway...

Good point! Well it makes no odds to me, I've got my season ticket, so no matter who is in charge I'll be there week in week out. If we can keep hold of the players we want and let go the ones we don't, I'll consider it a productive Summer, not that it usually works out that way.

Let me try and explain this to you and anyone else questioning this thread.

The last time I checked two professional football teams existed in Sheffield (3 if you include Rotherham), yet someone looking at this forum would see only threads about one of them and could quite reasonably think only one team existed.

Now if your imagination is such that you are unable to think what Blackwell will make of this then I have sympathy for you, however if you are able to think of events beyond Sundays game then this thread may be of interest to you.

For the record I don’t like how Blackwell comes across at times, I do however believe he has done well this season to get you to this position given the problems he’s had, and to deny people the opportunity to discuss this is bewildering at best.

Now take the thread in the spirit it was meant and either tell us what you think, or keep out of it.

Dont know about Blackwell but Gary Speed was back with his quiz team in the local on Monday night. He raised loads of money for charity by doing the London Marathon (in 3hr 50) and was celebrating with a few lagers.

I will try to keep this in simple terms so you can understand it our season (as for having something to play for) has been over for a few weeks so you decided to troll it for bites so I will bite

The last time I checked two professional football teams existed in Sheffield (3 if you include Rotherham), yet someone looking at this forum would see only threads about one of them and could quite reasonably think only one team existed.

So you can count do you want a prize for reaching 3?
FYO there are 50 threads on page 1 and there are 35 about wendies that leaves 15 not about your lot 2.3 to 1 so neatly 1/3 not about you would not give anyone the idea that only 1 team existed

Now if your imagination is such that you are unable to think what Blackwell will make of this then I have sympathy for you, however if you are able to think of events beyond Sundays game then this thread may be of interest to you.

My imagination is fine and I can see far beyond Sunday and personally I don't give a flying whatnot what Blackwell is feeling as neither do I give one to what you think I should be thinking so in your opinion no one should dare comment about what is the most important game for your team in the last few years, as a couple of your posters said in another thread

crooksey"What do you hope to gain with this thread? This is my last and only comment on it, it has absolutely no substance, we are fighting for our lives, and you are trolling for bites."
