Some time ago, some great person on this site posted a link. I think it was from the money saving expert. It was a little calculator that worked out how long your mortgage would take if you pay more.

I have looked all over with the search feture and all over the money saving expert site, but no luck.

Can anyone help a flustrated Lickable?

try your building society, britannia post a calculator to help with their products.
simpy over paying on some mortgages will not make any difference to the term of the mortgage.
speak to a specialist.

Ahhh, a fellow overpayer ! I'm currently paying double what I should do and reaping the benefits. The nice people @ HSBC send me a letter every time I overpay, and it now says on there how much interest I am saving each time I pay more in - save roughly the same amount as I deposit [they charge 1.89 pounds for every pound lent or thereabouts].

Having said this, they forgot to reduce my monthly payment after my last overpayment, and I've written a snotty email to them :P

Thank you, very much. This is the one i was talking about.

I have to get rid of this mortgage. Its so icky having it hanging over my life.

It will be paid off when i am... 39! Not bad.
