I missed a call the other day from a number I didn't recognise, anyway rang it back and got no answer. I became more curious so I had a look in the bt phone book and cannot find the area it was from

it starts 266

I found 264 265 but no 266 does anyone know which area of the city this is from?

Not all numbers are mapped to areas, it could be a Telewest Number which has one central exchange.

That's the Crookes / Broomhill exchange.

My friend's number starts 266 and he lives in Greystones!

just to confuse things, i used to have a 266 to and lived by hunters bar.

some cab companies have 266

266 is the Broomhill exchange which covers Crookes, Hunters Bar, Greystones and bits in between.

If it was really important they would have called back back now. So now you have wasted precious time and energy wondering who it was from when in fact it was probably someone from a tele-marketing agency or someone asking for donations to a charity. Don't lose sleep about it okay. Greystones area is close to Ecclesall, so it was probably someone playing a bad joke, ha ha.

Indeed! Why not call the number and find out who it was?
