Get their phone number from international Directory Enquiries & phone em & give a rant. That should freak em.

Did you use a credit card on Paypal? If so, there might be some redress there.

I wasn't exactly ripped off (and you should contact ebay as well as paypal....), but I was selling some mags. They didn't sell for the minimum price but this FRench guy emailed me later for some of them rather than the full set. I wasn't up for that but I listed them again at a lower price and he bought them - technically - but I never received payment and when I tried emailing him the email address was no longer valid...:loopy:

Hi,

You can get the sellers details from ebay (that are registered with ebay, doesn't mean they're legit tho) http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/pay/win-contact.html

You might have better luck getting advice on one of the message boards on there also, go to community, then to the message boards, very friendly bunch.

Keep perservering with Paypal, they do have a contact phone number if you feel better talking on the phone, it is on thier website.=
Customer Service Centre

PayPal Customer Service Agents are available to help you from 6:00 AM BST until 10:00 PM BST every day.

Call us on: 08707 307 191

We can only discuss an account with the account holder. Please have the following information available when you call:
Your telephone number
Your email address
The last four digits of your credit card or bank account registered with PayPal
For security reasons, we must verify the above details before discussing any account-specific information.

Print out a copy of the ended auction page, and keep any other documentation safe as well, such as a printed copy of the paypal transaction etc.

The main thing is not to give up, I know someone who had to wait around 8 months to get their money back from Paypal when they were scammed by a seller, so patience is the key.

It is possible that customs have taken the necklace out and just sent on the box. A similar thing happened to someone i know who bought a watch from abroad (fake). A week or 2 after recieving an empty box he got a letter from customs asking him to prove that the watch was real. He couldn't, they kept the watch.

Funnily enough I have heard that exact same story on the ebay help forums!

If the item hasn't been declared as a gift customs can cease the items though from what I read on that particular thread the guy received his 'empty' box as well as a postcard from customs for contact!

I would try the ebay help forums as the 'pinkies' will be able to advise you better than anyone on here no doubt!

Do let us know how you get on!

Good Luck
