Wonder if the power thingy was hit by lightning after that big bang? bertie749 31-08-2005, 19:11 Well it reached as far as Laughton but only for a split second thou..... Last time this type of weather happened I ended up looking out my front window in the pitch black for an hour waiting for the Peacock and Pea hen to get off the neighbours roof opposite so I could see them fly..... did not know they could! OOOhh wonder if they are there now............ sugarnspice 31-08-2005, 19:13 Wow bertie749, I think your avatar just hypnotised me. :o bertie749 31-08-2005, 19:18 Its fantastic isn't it..... had me for ages in work..... In theirwn words 'its a hell of a lot of people'. saxon51 01-09-2005, 11:14 Went to Mablethorpe yesterday (yes, I know, sad) and on the way home about 8.15-9.30pm it was horrendous. The rain was a solid sheet of water with hail stones in, all the country roads between Louth and Caenby Corner were flooded (like driving up the Amazon), the lightening was continuous and so bright that it was like daylight most of the time. The fastest I was able to safely drive was 40, and nobody else appeared to be going any faster. A hell of a drive back!!! The passengers were going "Wow!!" and 'Cor!!' whilst I was thinking, 'We're all going to die cos I can't see a bloody thing!!':( :( I have seen tropical storms first hand, but never seen anything as bad as it was yesterday. |
