Bulldog (My ISP) recently sent me an upgrade to the orginal modem they gave me when I signed up in June as a peace offering (had loads of problem getting started, too many to list :-) ).

Anyway it's the Binatone ADSL2000 Ethernet and USB router and I was wandering what people's thoughts were on it's performance and reliability.

I have looked on Google for reviews and such but haven't come across anything conclusive and more worryingly thier website doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Have Bulldog fobbed me off with a cheap dud or is the Binatone something to be happy with?

Will it support ADSL2 (doubt it.

Cheers

Oh yeah and whats the difference between a USB modem and a Ethernet & USB router anyway??

USB needs a driver and uses some processing time - not a lot but some.

Is it an ethernet-based product or USB? Or have they given you an ethernet router with built-in modem, and a (crappy) USB modem?

:)

Not to sure, how do I check? At the back of it there is room for a USB and a ethernet cable so I plugged them both into my computer to be sure. I've had my internet connection drop a couple of times tonight which i'm not best pleased with because this new modem was supposed to address that particular problem.

Er, unplug something then, preferably the USB lead.

Oh, and RTFM.
