Hi everybody! Do you know books easy to read to improve english? I'm french and next year I plan on inserting a business school, that's why my level in english has to be better than now! I prefer read novels, if you know anything easy to understand... Thank you very much!

Folio do a collection of bilingual books (Cliquez) (http://www.gallimard.fr/collections/english/fiche_folioetco.htm#foliobilingue). Have you tried those? I bought some from 'Gilbert Jeune' near Notre Dame when i was in Paris last year.

You could try some older childens and "young adult" books which for obvious reasons tend to use simple english some of which are still a good read for adults.

Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy is very good his "Sally Lockhart" books are also pretty good. I also really liked Jonathan Stroud's Bartimaeus Trilogy.

You could also try Roald Dahl's novels which are generally both easy to read and fun. The Harry Potter series is very easy to read.

Thank you very much for your answers. I haven't tried 'gilbert jeune' yet but a friend of mine told me that it was a great, cheap books shop. I'll try it.
Well, I'm reading now the first tome of Harry Potter, I've already read it in french but now I read it in English, and yeah it's very easy to understand and i make a lot of progress, my vocabulary is getting better. Thanks for your ideas of books, I'll have a look for them when I go to the library.

Sorry, I may have done a lot of mistakes !

Yes it's a good idea, I often read this Web site and I find interesting articles in English. And have you got any more ideas to improve? Like watching american series, movies, listening to the radio...? And if you have examples of series or movies, don't be hesitant to give me some.
