I am looking to move into sheffield and was wondering if I could have your input. I have 2 kids, a 2 yr old and a 4 month old. What I'm wanting to know is this, where am I best avoiding, what areas are nice, close to good school etc. Any thoughts and advice will be listened to.

Thanks in advance

I WOULD AVOID AREAS LIKE JORDANTHORPE. BATEMOOR, LOW EDGES, MANOR TOP, TINSLEY AND WINCOBANK THOSE 6 ARE THE WORST PLACES IN SHEFFIELD;)

I'd suggest trying to get somewhere that has a good group of shops and still have a lot of locals living in the area. Walkley and Crookes are both nice area's but they are very popular with students so this can cause a noise issue. A lot of the council estates are fine but some places do tend to view outsiders with suspicion and in some area's the council either seem to put all the single mum's or worse still all the drug addicts.
I would like to suggest Woodseats as a possible location as it has a wide range of ages, is convenient for most things and the local schools seem to have good records.
If you get the names of anywhere specific please come back to the forum as there is usually loads of advice to be found here if asked for.
