Heard on the news that Ken Clark has decided to stand for leadership to the Conservative Party. This may be bad news for Labout and Liberal Democrats, Ken Clark would be a popular leader I reckon.

View Full Version : Ken Clark - standing for leader of Conservatives Hels 30-08-2005, 21:21 Heard on the news that Ken Clark has decided to stand for leadership to the Conservative Party. This may be bad news for Labout and Liberal Democrats, Ken Clark would be a popular leader I reckon. royjames 30-08-2005, 21:37 I also have to say he will be a good leader for the tory party but he will only be short term, after that they will have to look to the younger generation. But Ken does appear to have more about him than the previous leaders since thatcher,he will give them a decent chance at the next election if they have the sense to elect him. Having said that there is a saying that goverments tend to lose elections on their own so he might need the Labour party to help him along. robbie 31-08-2005, 10:28 I think that the Tories need to be progressive and stop these short term fixes. Clark is one of the only tories that makes any sense but he'd rip the party in two. It would be nice to see them go with someone young such as David Cameron. But they wont. It'll be David Davies |
