Sounds good to me - although im not exactly jumping up and down about it, cardiff and palace games are way more important at the minute

yeah i got an text from the club about an hr ago... no great big news just details that things are moving fwd and plans are being made behind closed doors etc... fwd together...

Chicago based Club 9 Sports claim they are close to a deal to invest in Sheffield Wednesday.

A statement on the club's website said the talks were not dependent on Alan Irvine's team avoiding relegation from the Championship.

The American sports franchise said they intended to 'deliver the right investment - no matter what division the club finds itself in.'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sheff_wed/8564979.stm

Club 9 added: 'Ideally we would like to complete before the end of the season to have an immediate impact.'

It doesn't really say very much does it? I just can't understand why this has come out now, surely after the palace game would have been better.

Radio Sheffield, debated with the Owls number 2, to which he said investmest of 10 of thousands of pounds was almost agreed, when push came to shove he admited the figure was 20,000 but not paid in a single installment.
As investment bankers have been previously mentioned is this an investment at all ? or a takeover of the debt?

Is Strafford still to remain as leader? and will the co-op have any further interest in the club?

£ 20M FOR A OLD 3RD DIVISION CLUB? well done but loads of questions still to address.

is it 20 thousand or 20 million?

As i always say, i'll believe it when i see the cold hard cash being spent on some new players, till then i dont care if superman is running us.
That statement sounds more vague than me when ive had 10 stellas.
Load a crap, if they were that interested and bothered and proud ffs lmao at that comment, then they would have come in sooner, its another Strafford ploy of bullcrap.
Interesting how they want to invest now were favs to go down, do they think ten bob players will do like Strafford thought this season?

It is vague and the two statements in the links seem contradictory.
I think most owls would have preferred to not have this distraction this weekend.

Lets be R8, if it was anything worth shouting about then there would be more than a mini statement like that, if they are serious they have a lack of respect to the fans to not be more straight up with exactly what is going to be happening, inviting the fans to put there opinion across and questions, at the end of the day all we keep hearing is its your club, bunch of hypocrites and im losing patience with all this crap to be honest.
I just cannot believe how people could buy that load of jargon.

Until money is in the bank, i don't believe a word! LS and NP are good with words as Wednesdayites have witnessed in the 18 months these two have been involved with the club

As Corker said until players are paid for with money and not undisclosed fees, then i will start to get a touch on! until then i await the monies.

Its open ended with no time limit !

Its not a single installment!

Nothings changed from a year ago, it seems to be more of a financial restructure than an out and out investment. No shares are to be bought but talks with the co-op bank and other parties suggest a re structure and a buying/re negotiation of the debts.

I hope something does come off for the genuine supporters, but has anyone noticed how mute Strafford has been of late. Parker seeing through the latest media coverage.

for this i am glad, i wish strafford would pipe down until the end of the season
Parker is the Cheif Exec. so its not out of the ordinary for him to comment on such things

The no time limit statement, is that a worry? would one not have thought or wanted the matter to be sorted before the close season to enable planing and bugets for the new season, what ever the division, a no time limit suggests an other possible long wait.

Probably learnt their lesson from setting deadline's and missing them
Someone said about 5/6 weeks that's plenty of time for pre-season wheeling and dealing

like scooby said they have probably tearnt their lesson but it was said not long ago the hold up was not knowing what league we would be in. if the article is correct i would guess it wouldn't be long after the end of the season, still won't believe anything until it's signed though

I agree and leaving Strafford out of the spotlight adds a little more creditability this time.

I think that in the current economic climate, any investment is better than none. The only thing that would worry me is what the US investors get back in return. I have not read any of the reports listed on here so maybe it has already been said, but people like this only invest to make money, not out of the goodness of their heart.

Straffords own words today.

"I did not come [volunteer] to the club to get investment,
I came [volunteered] to help rebuild the club"

"Distinct"

"Do you not agree the club needs rebuilding?"

Strange thing is, when he and his sidekick came in it was "with an independant remit to secure investment before march 31st".

but like has been said the club is skint. we couldn't really bring players in apart from loans. the permanents haven't worked out but then it was laws that wanted the players. i'm not interested in the investment until the season finishes, then if there isn't anything concrete by the start of the season strafford has lost any support he had from me

Strafford is an embarrassment to Wednesday, it sounds like he made a right fool of himself on SSN, we might aswell have brought the wombles in with the amount of difference he has made to our predicament.
He hasn't done anything apart from hire a company who have more brains and knowhow than him, nice self confidence eh lol.
