Hello, my daughter is 14 years old and is desperate to get a job to save up money in order to go to London for University. We have tried hairdressers and shops but none of them seem to be interested as she is under 16. Her teacher has given her a fabulous recommendation and is really desperate to get a weekend job. Does anybody know of anywhere that would take her?

If no jobs come up that pay, she is considering doing volunteer work, in order to get some work experience.

Many thanks.

At £3 an hour she'd have to work a hell of a long time!

During the holidays we do get some entrepreneurial youngsters who come round offering to wash cars which I always give a couple of pound to out of respect for their get up and go (and so they don't wash it :hihi:).

One thing I DO NOT recommend them to do is odd jobs inside or in back gardens for, sadly, obvious reasons :(

Where do you live? I'll send the kids around with a sponge!

They're not that obvious, as I don't know what you're on about.....could you explain please?

I would not want my 13 year old daughter going into the house of a lone adult male who she has never met before; alone.
