If you haven't got any 1st class stamps and so put 2 2nd class on, is the item upgraded to 1st class or is it just a waste of the 2nd stamp.
This is not a trick question, I just want to save myself a trip to the post office.

no it should upgrade it to a 1st class as its the price of the stamps that counts, ,,, but i would just stick a 2nd class on it anyway as recent reports showed more 2nd class mail was gettin delivered 1st!

These days it doesn't matter what type of stamp you pop on it, it'll arrive later than expected!
Britain used to have one of the best mail services; it's terrible now. Royal Mail, perhaps Royal Fail!
2 x 2nd class will upgrade it to first since 2x2nd class = 42p and 1st class is only 30p.
