are there any catches? i've never had a PAYG phone, but my missus is on virgin payg and it costs her hardly anything.. i'm currently on an orange contract, and (including text bundle) it costs me about £60 a month!

i'm thinking of getting one of these virgin sims, knocking my orange phone down to the lowest possible tariff (which you can do after 6 months), then using virgin instead.. it would probable work out cheaper than i'm paying at the moment! plus, my missus is on virgin so texts to her would be cheaper..

any thoughts/advice?

ta.

If its anything like the O2 PAYG online SIM card purchase I made some months back it'll be fab - I bought a SIM and every month when I spend 10 quid I get 300 texts for free. And between those months I use up the 10 quid I put on my phone, so I only spend a fiver a month perhaps !

Mind you, my phone is old and have been looking at the K750i and perhaps getting one on Vodafone - 18 month contract @ £16.00 per month if bought online with 1000 mins a month off-peak calls and 250 texts included; first 3 months half price at 8 quid per month. Not much more overall than buying the phone by itself

Free off peak calls are no good to me though, most of my calls are during peak time.

Although free texts are always welcome.

they apologise, say they have amended my account, then the same thing occurs the following month, the first bill you get they will stop you double line rental and say that it is standard policy.

im stuck with it for the next 18 months, but will not be renewing my contract after that

mine still haven't turned up

do you reckon they send them out in the order in which the requests were received? cos i requested mine pretty late at night, as a last minute "why the hell not" kinda thing?

I dont know what order they sent them in, but its certainly not a first come first serve basis, as I applied ages before a friend of mine, and he got them about 2 weeks before me. In fact his came almost straight away.
