Hello guys
Anyone know of a 'good' scrap or salvage yard or cars in sheffield. need some bits for mine. Parcel shelf, spare wheels, usually bit n bobs.
I've heard that there is a really good one near Catcliffe. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or maybe a website. Been round some near the Wicker, not quite got what i was after

The one near Catcliffe you're talking about is probably Wilf Jay's... I've been there numerous times for bits and bobs for my old car... They're very decent in there (even though it was Daddy who did all the dealings) and good on prices too...
If you're in Morrisons at Catcliffe, turn left at the roundabout... Continue onto the next very little r/b and turn right... As you reach the next bend, its on your right handside... Quite hidden I might add...
Hope that helps!
ecclesfield car/commercial between morrissons and the police station up the rd
It depends on the make of car- if it's a SAAB the only place to go is Phil Smith's. That's all they do and they're good at it.

Yeh, Wilf Jays is a good place. They will even give you your money back if for some reason you need to take it back.
They have this mad system whereby they spray the part with a coloured paint so they know it came from their yard.
Someone told me they even have a spectrometer to test that the paint is in fact from them, and not sprayed on by some scally trying to defraud them :)

I am yet to find a decent scrapyard in Sheffield, if you want to pay via arm and leg Wilf Jays is okay (in my experience), however if you like to pay normal prices I am afraid your out of luck.

I think the idea is that you try to stay away from Scrap places as much as possible... Becoming a regular is not good!
If you're in and out every other week... Ask yourself why! Unless you're doing up an old car, or several for that matter! :P

Is the breakers at Beighton still there - by the level crossing?
The East end of Sheffield used to be blessed with dozens of them dotted around at one time. Does anyone remember Malcolm Bishop's where they sent a mechanic out on to the yard to get what you wanted?!
there is a scrap yard that you can get bits for cars on chesterfield/ London road just where the railway bridge goes over the road, opposite the Bridge pub. My boyf has had a few bits and bobs from there over the last couple of years.
Hope this helps!

hCharlotte Motors, on Brightside...Wilf Jays...as above...A Jap only yard back of KFC at Centertainment, another Jap yard accross from police station(Yuza??)...small yard on Effingham Rd
You don't say what car you have, if you look in Yellow pages you'll find breakers who do Fiestas, Vauxhall etc as well as general scrap yards who just get whatever they get.
