If it's a new build, it probably wont have VM cable, I'm pretty sure they haven't laid any cable since the 90s. Some parts of S2 have it, but it's quite a big postcode.

They haven't laid any new cables since the mid 90s, there are no plans to lay any new cables, it costs too much, I think they're still in debt from the original installs. Your only chance is if you're in a new build on a road that already had cable. If you've got cable, you'll be able to see the mark on the path outside where they put the cable & you should see a small triangular grate (think they're marked 'CATV') in front of each house.

The connection for cable doesn't look like a normal aerial socket, they're screw on fixings, like for sky digital. They come out of a small box on the wall that will be marked with the name of the cable company. It's likely at least one of your phone sockets would be marked with a cable company name too.

It is available in S2.. I have it.. But it depends where. Like anywebsite states a new build might not have it. if it's the new parklands estate then it won't have. I lived there when it was mainly fields. No cable ever laid. Which area or read is near?

If there are no boxes on the wall inside marked Virgin Media and there is no black plastic CATV triangle or no long stretches of new asphalt in the path then its safe to say there is no cable in that area.
The third connection you saw would not be Freesat or Freeview because they use standard aerial and coaxial satellite connections (the other ones you saw). If it looks like a normal aerial socket then its probably just an FM radio aerial connection.

if the house has a sky dish get freesat/freesat HD which is the ocst of the box and that's it.. No monthly bills.

Just do what I said. Have a look and see if there is any of the things I mentioned outside the property. If not then there is no cable there.
