heres my problem........my car battery is flat evry morning,it starts easliy with the jump leads and runs perfectly all day but when i come out to it in the mornings its dead as a doe doe...ive had the battery and altinater checked and they are both workin fine.:help: :help: :help:

Maybe your battery is shorting out. You would have lots of wiring to check for that.
The solanoid? Dunno if that is how you spell it.
How have you had the battery checked? Maybe there is a fault with the plates inside the battery itself?

It sounds to me like the battery isn't working fine. Who tested it? It may appear to be functioning ok but might not be holding its charge.
do you know how old the battery is? if its over 2 years then i would replace it anyway. then see what happens

i had it checked at kwik fit and then again at motormania just incase and the both said the battery is workin ok.

sounds to me like the alternator...
if the alternator is not working/ not working at a high enough level, then the battery will not recharge when it's been used. (a bit like how the battery drains when driving at really low speeds in snowy conditions.

Sounds like the alternator isn't running well enough to charge the battery. Another possibility - and one that I had on one of my cars, ws that the diode between the alternator and the battery short circuited. This has the effect of allowing the battery to discharge back through the alternator coils.
Another alternative is that the battery isn't holding charge for long because of a fault with the battery. It would run the car OK during the day because it's being topped up while you drive around, but overnight the charge dissipates.

Kirky, I take it that you have had the altinator checked whilst still in situ with the engine.
Try taking off one of the battery connectors then just touching the battery post with the connector.
It has to be done in a dark place as when you touch the post with the connector you would see a small blue flash everytime you touch the post.
If you do get this situation, the altinator diode pack is damaged and requires replacement.
The altinator will charge ok when running, this is why you can start it all day after the initial start, Overnight, the diode allows current to dump to chassis causing the fault that you have.
Do the flash test first....if you do not get a spark, change the battery.
Another way to check would be to dis-connect the battery overnight then see if it starts in the morning.
If it starts! get the altinator diode pack replaced.
If it doesn't, get a new battery.

I'll add that i had this problem many years ago and it was caused by a faulty car alarm draining the battery
might be mad but have u checked all internal lights etc are off.
i've had occasion when a boot light has run the abttery down overnight.
car alarms/immobolisers run batteries down which can affect older batteries & cars quickly, my mg suffers in the cold & he immob. drains the battery.
