I've just checked this weekends TV schedule and the first two episodes of The Pacific are being shown on Sky3 on Saturday night from 9:00 pm. If I'd have subscribed to the movie channel or Sky HD to watch this I'd be a bit peeved that it's now being shown a few weeks after originally being aired. Maybe crafty Sky are just trying to tease us folk that didn't subscribe by just showing the first two episodes on Sky3.

I am really annoyed about this.I didn't want to pay extra to get 'The Pacific' but really wanted to see it but as it was on a pay tarriff I put it out of my mind, knowing there was no chance of seeing it.
Now I discover it HAS been shown, I missed it, and they didn't advertise it, I wouldn't have thought to check the tv guide cos it couldn't possibly be on for free.GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I've just checked next weekends tv schedule and The Pacific is not being shown, like I suspected crafty Sky showed the first two episodes last night in an attempt to get people to subscribe to watch the remaining episodes on the movie channel.

Sky 3 is being shown on freeview and cable for for free this weekend, so they were giving people a taster of what is on sky.

Wait for it to come on DVD or on mainstream Sky and make your own mind up. The critics like it.

Yeah, I think I will, I liked Band of Brothers, so maybe if it's in the same vein it will be ok.

I think it suffers a little because of the comparison to Band Of Brothers. It's in the same vein but has a different emphasis, focusing primarily on just 3 characters as it does instead of the emsemble cast of BoB.

It's still good but it's not just more of the same.

If you have been with Sky for any length of time they you will know they don't give you anything for free other than the very occasional free movie pass weekend
(I can only recall them doing this twice in the 2O years I've been with Sky) or a taster like "The Pacific".
When Sky showed the first couple of episodes of the "The Pacific" it was fairly obvious to me that they wouldn't be showing the whole series bearing in mind that "The Pacific" is shown on one of Sky's premium movie channels.

Don't forget Sky 3 is the only Sky channel apart from SkyNews that freeview viewers can receive, so it's not surprising that "The Pacific" was specifically on Sky Three rather than Sky One or Sky two.

So, at last ..'The Pacific' is on Sky Atlantic.
I've watched the first two episodes and am enjoying it.I guess if you wait long enough, things come around again:)
