Location: Norfolk Park, Park Grange Croft (entrance just down from goals)
Time: 11am
Public Transport: 7 stops on Park Grange Road, 41 on Granville Road, 53/32 on Queens Road (5 minute walk up), 48/51/32 on East Bank Road/Heeley Bank Road, 42/94/95/120 on City Road (10 minute walk down to Park), Supertram to Herdings/Halfway stops on Park Grange Croft. Need info? Contact me!
Parking: Park Grange Road, Norfolk Park Road, Granville Road
As there is no Sheffield football on Saturday and weather forecast is very good, a few people wont have work and gearing up for the DERBY on Sunday, Saturday would be a good day to get together and have a WELL attended meeting and knockabout.
Norfolk Park playing fields are more central for most people and accessible by public transport. If we could borrow some nets from Masons ;) for the day would give us a good day!
We need a meet with a big attendance, please try to make this and let me know what time you want to make it for! By this weekend we could have sponsorship in place to be able to progress the team along with a OFFICIAL team name.
I also could do with contact numbers to a) create a team contact list for manager and secretary and b) to see if people are still coming to meets instead of relying on catching messages on here.
Get your name down for this...everyone invited!!!
L.U.C.A.S 14-04-2010, 18:51 Sound, I'll be there. Im still awaiting the sponors reply mate. See what he says, fingers crossed. Let you know soon as I know.

Good, hope he's up for it and we can get everything ready. League and pitch applications can go in soon as, affiliation and Part B of league application in a few weeks time.
Hopefully a few more will come here. Its a less used pitch but from what Ive seen, they look alright! Lower price and 3 SNR pitches so have to see.
Let everyone know you can! Im sending PMs.
Robbie Loving 14-04-2010, 22:25 Will come one day and see you boys, but when you're closer to me
I cant make this one.. If it was more central, in town for example you would get more of a showing.. Im not sure if there is any parks/ playing fields in town.. Is there?
Pink2Bubble 15-04-2010, 09:04 Really this one is more central than Hillsborough. Nothing round City Centre really. Where abouts are you?
the nly place in the city centre(ish) is maybe endcliffe park or weston park?
Im at wadsley bridge, but i was just thinking everyone really.. Both places Scott said is quite good. Both central and easy to find for people.
matt1889 15-04-2010, 11:09 I will be there regardless however if you follow Scott's lead and make it a bit more central towards weston park etc then I have 3 empty seats in my car and am more than happy to play taxo for a few people.....if anyone needs help getting to and from dont worry about contacting me.
i do not know where this pitch is
Pink2Bubble 15-04-2010, 14:00 the nly place in the city centre(ish) is maybe endcliffe park or weston park?
Busy at weekends those 2, probably not be too bad midweek training though.

Whereabouts are you? Give us an idea of who could catch a lift.
i do not know where this pitch is
Can direct you, its pretty straight as its just off Sheffield Parkway.
If you want to move this one, Im easy. I picked it as it has 3 big pitches, quiet area really as its not a public 'park' as such and just out of city.
If you want to do Parsons Cross or something, then decide soon as! Please state where you would rather play and where you could make.
Id play anywhere.
might be working saturday anyway, get some extra funds for the sunday session,

GRAVES PARK

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graves_Park
CorkerSWFC 15-04-2010, 14:29 Dale said its the woodseats entrance to Graves park, but i don't know where the pitches are down that end??
I only know the 7 or 8 pitches at the top end down from the water tower.
Pink2Bubble 15-04-2010, 14:29 might be working saturday anyway, get some extra funds for the sunday session,
as asked if they need anymore for tonight
No nothing from them at all so guess they're ok. Try to make it Saturday and sort a location if Mather Rd is no good.
What times kick off tonight with the Horse and Jockey and where exactley is the pitch???
Guess around 6. PM replied too.
Google is and use aerial view or Google Earth, you can see them in corner. Reached from woodseats shops or Hemsworth Rd.

Yeah just had a look, i used to play up there for the Wyvern pub, defo stamina testers those pitches lol.
L.U.C.A.S 15-04-2010, 18:35 Guys!!!
Why don't we all just meet up Saturday 11am on Norfolk Park, Norfolk Park Road entrance [just below GOALS] It's down the road from the bus station and train station [chepeltown boys], has a close Supertram stop [Park Grange Croft], and buses run past the park and it's central. WIN WIN isnt it.
Just agree to this and get there!!!!!!
If your interested in the team we need players who can at least travel to the away games wherever they may be. If you cant make this, to me theres no commitment
Pink2Bubble 15-04-2010, 19:08 Totally agree, first post updated. This will show willing, certain people, such as debilde23 have good reason for not coming and have explained. No problem with that.
Everybody get down to Norfolk Park!!! 11am on Saturday! Ive updated all public transport links to the park and parking.
Cheers
L.U.C.A.S 15-04-2010, 19:25 Ive emailed a couple of letters to the council asking about the pitches at Norfolk Park availability for next season and prices.
matt1889 15-04-2010, 19:45 Sorry Lucas mate if thats the football pitches that your gonna to use as a home pitch then im out i will just be a spectator.
I broke my leg on those pitches due to the bad quality of them, the field is always in a poor condition and the students play on it all the time leaving it un-playable and matches are always called off, I played on it for Norfolk Park Rangers and believe me it's a complete waste of space, not worth the money you pay for it and overall an health and safety hazard!
Pink2Bubble 15-04-2010, 19:47 Norfolk Park has 1 SNR pitch, 1 JNR pitch and 1 mini pitch with total of 5 teams using them. Best we can do is put it as No. 1 on our preference list of 4.
matt1889 15-04-2010, 19:49 Well good luck with it fellas if thats where you wanna play but I wont be playing on it thats a cert and I wouldnt recommend it to you lot, but never the less if you guys opt for it then I will obviously still watch when i can and stuff.........
This pitch is majorly abused and neglected and I will guarantee half of your matches will be called off
Pink2Bubble 15-04-2010, 19:52 Sorry Lucas mate if thats the football pitches that your gonna to use as a home pitch then im out i will just be a spectator.

Your still in for Saturday though, yeah? Knock about there and we can discuss what pitch we should use.
Its a central area with good public transport access to everybody should be able to get together and talk about a home pitch. You obviously know a fair bit so would be good to have you there!

Ryan? Better location? lb_swfc you know where this is? Your other mates would be good too.
L.U.C.A.S 15-04-2010, 20:02 I havent seen the pitch for god knows how long so wouldnt know what state its in. I suggested this purely on the fact that people are moaning "it's to far" or "no ways of getting there". This was picked because it eliminates all those problems.
Saturdays still on! so come down discuss it. bring your ideas on pitches and everything else, we are still awaiting sponsor reply. If you don't want to play on the pitch because of rough ground fair enough the park is big enough to find a spot to have a kick about.

Like I said i'm only complaining about Norfolk Park pitches merely on the fact that I broke my leg on them and know them very well to be shocking pitches mate, never the less I give my support 100% in every way for the team and if people moan I will do door to door collections on a weekly basis to get them to the games no problem.
matt1889 15-04-2010, 20:08 And saturday lads I won't let you down don't worry, just publicise the fact that if anybody needs a life on saturday or any other point then don't hesitate to ask.....Based in S6 area but will travel as needed!

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner, I'm still up for it but would like to play a few friendlies before I commit with cash to be honest to see how we all get on etc. Though I'm definetly still up for the team being put together and I would come this Saturday but I already play Saturday if we have a kickabout or game on a Sunday I'll normally be able to make it.
CorkerSWFC 15-04-2010, 22:58 I think it may be a good idea if we all put say 3 quid in on Saturday at least to get things going financialy also, every little helps.
We have a paypal account which lucas can pay it straight into.

Probably best to wait until the day is over, then people can put straight into paypal if they wish. Also, looking at opening a bank account so things can be bought online that way with statements (they dont all take paypal!!! LOL )

Exactly, they both work (SWFC/SUFC and football one). Ive lost all software for things like that, even paint so rely on others to do some, then we'll pick one that we can hopefully print!
CorkerSWFC 16-04-2010, 21:22 Maybe the year could be done in blue to make the other bits less red and black lol.
BLADES-EELA 16-04-2010, 21:23 haha, some cant be pleases

We'll keep at it thats a cert :)
Pink2Bubble 17-04-2010, 19:02 Well think it wasn't too bad today, 3-a-side meant I had to do some running but enjoyed it.
Sorry to the guy that ended up with my studs in his leg, (totally accidental!!LOL) prob good job they're moulded and not metal though.
Any players to put our way would help, we have a few but the more the better it seems!
Sorry LUCAS, just online now, looked a decent kit. Keep an eye out though.
Lets keep at it, we're getting there!
Need another one. How does Shirecliffe, Cooks Wood Road sound as it seems to be a good pitch up there and potential for next season. Ideas on dates too anybody?
NERVY-OWL 17-04-2010, 19:05 is this team going to be a saturday or sunday team? if it's sunday i'd maybe be able to look into playing some games but not sure if i could work it yet
Pink2Bubble 17-04-2010, 19:12 is this team going to be a saturday or sunday team? if it's sunday i'd maybe be able to look into playing some games but not sure if i could work it yet
Sundays, matches would start between 10am and midday I think normally. (Just means working late or being off Sundays, Id have to swap mine for late duties Sunday).
Tbh, training I would struggle with during week on lates (every other week) but be fine for matches.

i'll look into it then. i have kids every sunday so it would depend on my parents being around to look after them while i play but i could do some mathes if they can. would have to join in one of these sessions first anyway, not sure if i'd be abit lightweight for 11-a-side or not got enough ability but i'll let you guys decide that if i can get to a knockabout
Pink2Bubble 17-04-2010, 21:02 Today at the knockabout we had our kids so bring them, could be same for matches. Me and Corks had kids there today and really enjoyed it off pitch with a ball or 2. Plus, my wife will be there to look after them ;)
