I've had a go myself, see http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k121/grahamdeepwell/Stump.jpg, with a small chainsaw from Argos. That's going back, hopefully for a refund.

I thought a chain saw would rip into it big time, but it's like trying to use a breadknife on it.

I can offer two decorative rocks http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k121/grahamdeepwell/Smallrocks.jpg (click to magnify) and a small amount of cash. And/Or your own website if you want one.

Thanks for the kind offers by PM.

Argos refunded me for the chainsaw, so I hopped across to Homebase and found a ripping blade for my electric saw. I set to with renewed vigour and determination - and succeeded! At last, it's gone http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k121/grahamdeepwell/Stumpgone.jpg

Hot Fairy Liquid suds should scrub off the oil stains, I hope.

Thanks again for looking.
