I'm thinking of buying a 50cc Moped, however I have no knowledge about the subject at all.

Which are the good and bad types to buy?

How much can I expect to pay for a decent second hand one?

Where is the best place to buy?

Can I have a taster session anywhere?

Will I need protective clothing? Will it make my bum look big?

Do I need to take a test, use L Plates?

Please help, I dont even know anyone who rides a moped.

from personal experiance id say the piaggio NRG peds are the best as they are super quick and they dont **** up when you put a sports exhaust on it (like other peds do) i had a suzuki katana which was nice looking but slow.

i paid 750 for mine, it was 2 years old at the time and had jus had a new paint job. i sold it for 450 2 years later with some scratches on it from falling off.

i got mine from a second hand dealer, biketrader is good tho.

i had a bike jacket cost a me £90 from hein gericke (bike shop) not leather. nice looking and protects and keeps your warm and dry in winter.

you need to do a CBT, it cost me about 90 quid and takes about half a day. u have to use L plates until you do another test (however i didnt have mine on for most of the time.
