Hey, just noticed your post, I'm stayin in Phoenix Court as well. What no. room are you in? I've heard it's quite nice and it's right in the city so it should be right there for night life n stuff :) But according to the accomodation guide it doesn't have microwaves :'(.

Just finished my 1st year staying at Phoenix Court. As you will find out, it is in a great location for the clubs and bars etc..

Yeh, you will need to buy a microwave, toaster, kettle, cuttlery and a mostly everything else you would need in a kitchen.

Id also reccommend taking a mirror as there are no mirrors either.

I enjoyed my year at phoenix court and met loads of new friends so im sure you will enojy it too.

Anything else you want to know???? ;)

Hey, I heard somewhere you're not allowed to take toasters? :( Is that a load of rubbish then cos I can't remember where I heard it. But as long as it's ok to take microwaves I'm fine! And thanks for saying about the mirror ! Don't think I'd have managed without one!

Yeh, you are allowed to take toasters with you.

Also a little tip is for you and all your flatmates to put your first lot of electricity cards into the meter in one go as it takes longer to run out. ;)

Hope you have a good time there

Thanks :D.
oh oh one more thing though. You couldn't attempt to explain this electricity thing cos I don't get it. I mean like the whole concept of tokens and stuff.
Thanks lots for the help :)

Well basically there is a electricity meter for every flat. So you and your flatmates will receive £50 each in tokens which is to last you until you get back from your x-mas break.

You shouldnt have a problem with running out of electricity unless you leave one of those portable fan heaters on as they spank your electricity away.

One thing that i could have used whilst at phoenix was a free carpark on site as it costs £5 to park all day in the centre of town. The best bet if you have a car is to park outside one of the other accomodations like Liberty House. :hihi:

hiya, just come across the website and thought i'd send a message type thing!

moving into phoenix court on the 18th and would love to hear from any one else who's staying in the same halls.

this seems a great opportunity to warn anyone staying in flat 77 that i always burn toast and have a particular taste for anything remotely alcoholic!

glad its in the centre, less chance of not making my way home after heavy night of drinking... i hope!

anybody want to get in touch that would be good!

hope to see you all very soon (even though i havent started packing)
