View Full Version : Return of V tonight!!
Dont know how much interest there will be in this but i loved the original when i was a kid and though a bit dated now i'm looking forward to this remake on channel 129 on sky.
Bit of detail here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_%282009_TV_series%29
Lets hope its better than the book the second generation which was dire:gag:
SpiderPete 13-04-2010, 20:15 I have seen the first 4 or so episdoes and must say its quite good.
I wont say anything else dont want to spoil it for you :)
I'm setting up my sofa bunker ready for it.
Having just seen a fantastic episode of Stargate Universe I want fags, booze and chocolate in handy reach for V so I don't have to keep dashing off for stuff.

haha thanks for that!! Never knew they made anything until i saw the newspaper today...so quite excited!! lol
i remember there was talk of the book being made into a film with the original stars like Marc Singer but dont know if you read the book but i never read anything so bad and cliché! No wonder it was never made and thats my humble opinion!! lol
neeeeeeeeeek 13-04-2010, 20:52 I watched the first 3 or 4 last year and really enjoyed it. Looked for the next one and had to wait 4 months!
Beakerzoid 13-04-2010, 23:32 I watched the first 4 last year, but resisted the temptation to watch the most recent episodes from the US (it started up again recently) as I knew it was coming to Sci Fi HD soon.
Have stored it on my HD box and am going to re-enjoy the first 4 episodes again in a better definition picture :)
Great re-vamp of a the story, and well worth watching.
The_Shark 14-04-2010, 00:20 is it just me or does the guy who plays Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) look like a young Tom Cruise?
I never saw the original, but I watched the first one last night- right enjoyed it, and will be watching the next one
Enjoyed the first two episodes..looking forward to next week!!

Have you got freeview or cable, as it was shown on Sky 3 as part of a Sky preview weekend last weekend. It is normally on the Sci-Fi channel.
Ive just got freeview- it wasnt on last weekend, thats what confused me- gutted because I loved the first
Thankfully its also on iTunes (episode 4 came out the other day) :)
I like how they havent gone overboard with special effects and the acting is pretty good. Although having seen some actors in other things does detract from it a bit, much prefer Morena with longer hair (http://www.etapetki.com.pl/galleries/znane/B/Morena_Baccarin/Morena_Baccarin_m3.jpg), although the short hair does work :P
Just watched episode 5, Welcome to the War. Getting really good now, fab ending to it :)
ralphy666 07-05-2010, 11:54 Enjoying it but the scenes on the spaceship dont look visually correct, as in you can tell its all effects, sometimes even the floor does not even look realistic.
rosieadamson 07-05-2010, 15:03 the origional V was and still is the best, i watched a few episodes of the new one and it didnt have that certain something the first one had.

You are right, it does seem to have poor production standards. For example in one of the episodes there is an external shot of the New York Mother ship and it is above New York, higher than the Empire State Building, but when it cut to the internal view looking out of a window of the New York mother ship they were lower than the Empire State Building.
