Despite many people thinking it would be rejected Apple have actually allowed Opera Mini for iphone into the app store.
I was looking forward to this and expecting to be using it instead of safari, but unfortunately...its rubbish.
It may well be faster at loading some pages, but it renders lots of pages badly, the text on many pages can't be read without zooming, and zooming is impossbile to control.
Maybe they were hoping it would be rejected, because the version that's been released does Opera no favours.
