Any comments

Personally i think there is no way Lance was doped up during the 99 TDF.

The French have been trying to find something on him for years but never have, now as seen as they cant there out to stitch him up.

I agree - i think certain people are very bitter about Lance's success. i read (in his autobiography?) that some people even suggested that his (early) success was due to the steroids from his cancer treatment - the man was almost dead for crissakes!

i think (and hope) that he's clean as a house after kim and aggie 'ave been in, and that everyone will just marvel at and celebrate his achievements. he's a tremendous inspiration for cancer patients, that's for sure. the book's well worth a read if anyone's interested.

The french love cycling and their tour, so an american coming along and dominating it for seven years on the trot is like 7 very personal kicks in the balls. They will try everything in their power to discredit armstrong rather than to respect him as one of the all time greats. And as armstrong says they've all got a vested interest in selling stories to newspapers. Its a sad world sometimes.

"Lance Armstrong's record setting seventh Tour de France victory,
along with his entire Tour de France legacy, may be tarnished by what
could turn out to be one of the greatest sports scandals of all time.
Armstrong is being quizzed by French police after three banned
substances were found in his South France hotel room while on vacation
after winning the 2005 Tour de France.

The three substances found were toothpaste, deodorant, and soap
which have been banned by French authorities for over 75 years.
Armstrong's girlfriend and American rocker Sheryl Crowe is quoted as
saying "we use them every day in America, so we naturally thought they'd
be ok throughout Europe."

Along with these three banned substances, French authorities also
physically searched Armstrong himself and found several other
interesting items that they have never seen before, including a backbone...."
