Do you get it a lot where you nearly bump into someone coming the other way along the street? You both take evasive action but unfortunately it's in the same direction? So then you simultaneously try to go round each other the other way? Then you both stop and wait for the other person to make a move? Finally you both give up waiting, move off, and bump into each other?
Well I do :P Ended up doing some kinda crazy jig with some girl in Boots recently, until we eventually despaired of ever passing each other and both turned round to take an alternative route.

Well I think something should be done about this hidden peril of everyday life, and so I intend for a convention to be agreed upon. I suggest we simply both move to our right in such a situation, ie counter clockwise. Who's with me on this? :|

Strange though...if you bump into someone who always say 'sorry' or 'excuse me' etc but as soon as you are in a car it's a differant story...horn blasting, finger gestures etc etc

Why is that????

Similar annoyance, are people who walk straight into your path from a tangent, while you're in the flo so YOU have to move!

Worse than that, people who walk round you, in front of you than stop to talk to someone or look in a shop window!

Causing you to take evasive action.

What's all that about then?

I once draw a cartoon strip of that (years ago, when I used to do that sort of thing)

Two people in the desert walking towards each other, you could see them miles apart, frame by frame they got closer and closer.......

Until the final frame, and they did that inevitable 'bumping into each other' thing :hihi: :heyhey:

Blimey - thought of another!

I must be tired... :D

Whatabout a scenario, say Meadowhall, Christmas, loads of people milling everywhere...
You're on the escalator with half of Sheffield & much of Rotherham & Barnsley when the 2 old dears in front of you get to the top and STOP!

Bewildered as to which way toturn for the best while a massive unstoppable queue is compacting into dense matter behind them!

And with no warning either :(

That annoys me more than words can say - which is why I insist that when I get on an escalator there must be at least one empty step, preferably two, between me and the person in front. Other people waiting behind me get irritated by this, but on more than one occasion it's helped prevent a pile-up.

This happened to me when I was 7, and putting some milk bottles round the front of a building, the woman got so exasperated that she pulled my hat off and started pulling out my hair:o !

Ah, but isn't Britain in the minority there? I like to think big, and so am aiming for an international solution to the problem :P

Which direction should we go? The right direction! (Sounds like something Joey might've said?) You all know it makes sense

That's terrible!

What happened? Did your parents go round & tw@ her one?

I would have if it had been my lad
