use nero showtime for playing dvd's but not happy with it.
can anyone recommend any freeware stuff that i could try. tried download.com but that is all trialware with ££ signs.

doesn't Windows Media Player play DVD's? I know mine does but that might just be because I installed the plug-ins for it... cant remember...

personally I use Cyberlink PowerDVD, its not free but it comes free with most DVD drives and people flog copys on ebay and allsorts for dirt cheap because they've bought 2 or 3 drives and have them going spare

it's the best one I've used because it has some good audio and video settings, good upmixing for 2.1 to 5.1 :) although my soundcard's software does that anyway now... but hey ho
