It's early for a match thread. Anything to get one's mind off that monday result.

Heard JJ is being worked on, possible for sat.

How many Owls usually travel to the Riverside?

we'll be close, its a horrible city but as far as the match itself its massive so i think 3-3,500 will travel

the lads im going with want to do cardiff in fancy dress but im not convinced! (ive left the goal open there for a ribbing so just waiting for someone to 'tap it in' lol)

As before, you never know whats going to happen. How many expected us to lose at QPR but pick up a win against Bristol?!

I think the safety first approach has to change, we cant draw ourselves to safety now...its win, win, win, win next 4 games, even then, others now have to slip up. Its a tough run in but you never know!

C'mon WEDNESDAY!

Watford v Plymouth
C. Palace v QPR

are this weekends offerings - we could be in a situation where we need to win all 3 if we're not careful

how many did united take to boro, 1k?

First match of the season
Friday night and on Sky
So wouldn't say 1,000 is bad if thats what it was, Ask someone who went how many we took.

You will take a good following because its a crucial match for you, If the Blades were relegation fodder and in the brown stuff much like you are then I am sure we would have taken that many as well.

Blades going to have over 5,000 at your Sty for a nothing match for us but, Its really your Cup Final once again ;)

erm surely it's your cup final, we've got 3 other "cup finals" between now and the end of the season ... im really just looking for the points now and hopefully there's a bit of derby day success to enjoy in the close season

YOU THINK ---- :hihi::hihi::hihi:
I KNOW :hihi::hihi:

Your fan base is way bigger than ours and you are a massive sleeping giant of a club so we keep getting told and you are too big a club to go down.

19,000 and an odd few for the match against Bristol,City was PATHETIC if i am being honest. We got 22,600 against them.
Watford for a massive game for you, you got 18,000 when we played them we got 24,600 --- That massive game you had against Derby County you got 21,000 when we played them we got 25,000.

Yes you take more away, but Strapon wants 25,000 for home matches not 18and 19,000.

Anyways back on topic, think you will win tomorrow J ermm I mean Scooby :D

you've averaged just over 3,000 more than us this season which considering we've been down near the bottom all season i think is bleedin good! I would gurantee if we were in and around the Play-Offs we'd get more than 3,000 extra in!!! Not much point doing the whole we got more than you for this game thing cos it depends on so many things, we got 30k+ against barnsley, you got 24k - some might say that's pathetic (i would)

Who keeps telling you we're too big to go down? ive not heard anyone say that since we went down to League 1 first time round

J? dont get it ... i've predicted a loss in the prediction league and i honestly cant see us winning, but it aint impossible

these figures aren't important though, only the games where they actually got more count;) no point in all this talk of atendances though, plenty of things make a difference to the attendances in a season, i think the figures we've been getting are very good considering out position.

as for the game i'm expecting us to lose but no change there:hihi: i've given up predicting how we'll do until the end of the season but we do seem to do ok against the better teams so who knows

We've got to go for it today, no fannying around with trying to get a point.
Go there, straight for the jugular, and wallop these turkeys.
I'd go a back 4 of Nolan, Purse, Beevers and Gray.
I'd go a midfield 4 of Tudgay (wide right) Hinds (holding) O'Connor (biting) and Spurr (wide left).
Up front I'd have Clarke and Varney.
Just prior to kick off, Tudgay, Spurr and Clarke would get the double 'hairdryer' treatment with all 3 being given 20 minutes to shine and make proper impacts on the game. If Tudgay shows his 'I can't be bothered' attitude, and doesen't try 100% from the first whistle, I'd sub him after the first 10 minutes.
I'd fully expect 100% from the 4 defenders, and Hinds and O'Connor, as I reckon they've all shown the right attitude.
Tudgay playing properly, and Spurr should be firing in crosses for the whole 95minutes.

Earwiggo

Should my little plan not bear fruit, I'd look to bring Jeffers on in a 'John Sheridan' role, and I'd give JJ a free role up front, doing what the hell he likes.
With 20 to go, if we're still not in a winning position, I'd go 3 at the back, and push Purse up front.
It's no good us going in to this game with our present outlook, ..... lose this one, ......... lose at Cardiff, .... draw with United .......... and beat Palace!!!
We HAVE to win this game!!!!!

Playing with the right attitude and conviction, we can win all 4 remaining games (we did Cardiff away last season).
None of the games are overly difficult, only for the 'woe is me' brigade.
Get out there Wednesday, and thrash Boro' out of sight!!!!

If we go to any remaining games and play with fear, we're doomed.

Boro have nothing to play for now (as the playoffs are beyond them realistically) so should be beatable today; blades only have local pride to play for, and aren't exactly on a great run recently; Cardiff may well have a secure playoff spot by then, which could lead to key players being rested, so a good chance of at least a point there; and Palace... may all be sorted out by then anyway.

Wednesday playing well according to the Owl - Varadi and the Blade - Seth Bennett. Giving it a reight go, but can't score again. Hit woodwork twice (I think) Not having any luck up front whatsoever, but we've had a bit of luck defending.
Not throwing bodies up as I think we should do when in this position.
Sounds like we can't fault the effort, Grant the saviour again, but toothless again up front.

You need to worry about your lack of scoring....
Looking at the fixtures I reckon If you beat us then you will stay up.

Palace chucking it away, Wouldn't look as far ahead as Scunny as they have a game in hand.

from what my brother says it was a mistake by the defence for their goal, played a quick free kick short and their player nipped in and scored(maybe with a deflection from purse). looking at results today it could of been a whole lot worse but i'm not confident of staying up, even wit a derby win it looks tough but hopefully we will try and go for it in the last games. all winnable games if the team plays how we know they can

If there is any blame in their goal it comes from our midfield standing off and letting him come through the middle too easy, then the shot just took a massive deflection and Grant had no chance.

Without the deflection it looked like it would have been an easy save.

It was a weird game again, much like mondays, we didn't deserve to lose, but we just don't do enough going forward.

It's saying something when we're in a relegation dog fight, we need wins and our best players are the defenders and goal keeper.
