steveroberts 05-04-2010, 07:46 Call them seems to be the obvious thing to do!
Any charity is always looking for new ways to raise money.
Also try local sports clubs (there is a sports section on the forum)
Hi, please contact me, my charity will be very interested
indizine 05-04-2010, 10:16 I would suggest not using a gmail adress for starters. Looks so spammy and if you are a business then you should be using a proper business email address for various reasons.
My main thought though, is if you can help charities raise money, how can you prove this when you don't even know how to contact them already? Sounds a bit bizarre to me.

I tend to agree with you about this being bizarre!
Ron Burgundy 08-04-2010, 09:50 There seems to be a deluge of companies looking to sign charities up for their benefits at the moment- utilities, will-writing services, mortgage brokers etc. I am guessing (apologies if I am incorrect) that this request is something along these lines.

You may be onto something (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6099742&postcount=1) ;)
Mentalmomma 05-05-2010, 15:19 So whats this brilliant way to raise funds, if it's fro real and above board why are you not simply contacting charities, there are enough of them out there!
Charities however do source there contacts themselves and are very thorough about funding and will only use reputable companies and organizations for support and advice for obvious reasons!
P00D0026 05-05-2010, 16:19 Most charitys use marketing companys which use door to door sales and event stalls etc... like the ones you get pestered by in meadowhall to get people to give there money.
There is a marketing place down the bottom of the moor that does alot of charity "fundraising" and they make a right bundle of cash for every "contract" they get people to sign.
You know the sort you pay £2.00 a month on Direct Debit to save a donkey etc. They get paid about £40.00 per contract.
Most people never cancel the dd once they have them signed up so charitys pay these marketing guys thousands to get people to sign them up.
Don't pay your hard earned cash to a massive corporate charitys that only use about 10% of the money raised for the actual cause! THey spend the rest on massive CEO bonuses and and corporate nonsense.
If you ask me "fundraising" is the biggest swindle in history. donate your time to chosen cause not your money. They cant spend help and friendship and honest hard work and it will make a bigger difference to your life and the people/animals you help and donate your time to.
Okay Rant over sorry.
indizine 05-05-2010, 16:33 I have to agree in some repsects there. When you consider the wages the CEO's get it is hardly charitable by nature but one could argue these people do a job like any other CEO. I would personally rather donate my own time to help than chucking cash in a bucket and it is true that only a small amount of every £1 goes directly to the cause and that most of it is spent on running costs; salaries, expenses, etc.
buiss2008 05-05-2010, 19:39 thanks for your interest we now have a great way of contacting charities we are having some great success now

steveroberts 06-05-2010, 06:25 Well, that told you Sandra :o
One of the more bizarre threads I've come across on the forum

John, tell us what you do please. There's no need to be mysterious and I'm sure that isn't your intention.
indizine 06-05-2010, 10:45 I wasn't disregarding your opinion so not sure why that got a mention, I was saying how bizarre your own comments were - obviously in relation to the thread, especially since you gave nothing away to help us understand you. It made the thread seem pretty pointless.
