I'm asking this, on behalf of a friend.
Her boys are about 14 weeks, and when they hit about 6 months old, in just 10/12 weeks time, she wants to be a responsible owner, and get them chopped.
They are "small to middling" in size (Jack-Russ to Staffy size.)
Can anyone give me rough up-to-date prices for a male dog castrate, please?
I was quoted £130 for trixie's "small female spay at Highfield vets.
Her local vet (in the s20/s13 area) is quoting her that amount for a small male castrate, which I am sure is outrageously dear for what is a totally simple a 10 minute chop-op. Times that by the two boys, and it's getting into the realms of the rather pricey.
A male cat chop is only about £30 to £50, generally, AFAIK, (well £30 was what Thiri's boy-cat-chop was priced at, just 10-odd weeks ago) and I'm sure that the cost of a small dog chop shouldn't be more than about 20 quid each more than a cat chop?( £50/55 to 70-ish?)
I look forward to folks' sensible and constructive answers for my friend, who wants to do the best by her boys.
