In order to help a group of special needs kids I am trying to make a simplified desktop with nothing on it other than very 4 large folders.

The folders will be either be different colours or have a symbol or picture on it to indicate the contents. The contents will be the favorite tunes/vids/pictures for each user.

So far I have emptied the desktop of all icons and hidden the taskbar, but can't work out what can help me to make super big folders.

Any ideas? Thanks.

If you don't find a simpler solution Samurize (http://www.samurize.com) should be able to do it. It basically lets you put anything you want on your desktop, and you can link pictures or anything to folders, files etc

If you're using XP:

Right click on desktop
Click PROPERTIES
Click APPEARANCE tab
Click ADVANCED button
Where it says ITEM, select ICON from the drop down menu
Change the size from 32 to 64 or more to suit

Go to control panel.

Investigate the 'dipsplay' and the 'Accessability' options.

Try Googling for Extra Large Desktop Icons or lowering your screen resolution.
