I'm at a wedding thankfully, so I'll miss it.

Exactly! Im not renewing our season tickets for next year, my son that I go with has totally lost interest, so I wont have anyone to go with :( Saying that tho, specially after Sundays performance Id have thought twice anyway.
Hopefully we'll up our game tomorrow, but Ive got a feeling Barnsley will be more up for it than us. I think we'll get a point at best
LADYBIRDS 03-04-2010, 09:56 Well Q.P.R may cheer us all up.!

No, I'll just let off a bit of steam and tell you about my team.
I haven't seen United play since 1995 on our last trip home, they beat Burnley 2-0. They don't show any British football on TV anymore, only on pay TV and I'll never have that. I'm too tight to subscribe to the video replays on SU website. We can't get Radio Sheffield live broadcasts of the games, they block the commentary. I see the results, read the match report and listen to Football Heaven. Thats it. We have a Sheffield United Supporters Club in Tasmania, I know the secretary/treasurer. He's the only member.
When I was playing my football back home for Orgreave Works, Handsworth Social and Brinsworth WMC, we would often turn out with 10 men, or 9, or occasionally 8, and the coach would get on the blower and frantically ring around for fill-ins or ring-ins as they were called. They'd turn up before half time if we were lucky and if we went in only two or three goals down we still had a chance. I can't help but draw a parallel with Sheffield United today, the only difference is, the ring-ins usually turn up before the kick-off.
How sad is that?
Felt sorry for Ward having to go off injured again. Looks like its his hamstring, so thats his season over. Yeates when he came on was friggin crap, cant we send him back to Boro.
What was the attendance? How many dingles?
What was the attendance? How many dingles?
Just under 25,000... Lots and lots of dingles, even on the Kop.
I know loads of people who aren't bothering anymore, the season is over and the football is crap!
sham.69er 03-04-2010, 16:53 Just under 25,000..
but that figure includes season ticket holders that didn't attend....
blackpool actual figure 16.5k
QPR 17k
scunny 17k
doesn't say that in the papers or programme though...
How did dingles get on the kop?
hurstyowl 03-04-2010, 17:44 poor crowd that even if your season is over and crap footy.
Another uninspiring game at the Lane, not much of interest bar yet another key injury in Ward, and a high quality performance by Little while others around him underperformed (Henderson was probably Barnsley's best player today!).
Hard to see another win coming this season, and a couple of heavy away defeats are likely... more annoying when the playoff contenders don't seem capable of shutting the door and leave us still just two wins away...

YEP ! and yours against Donny lol, you got a gate v Barnsley as it was early season and they brought 5000, they brought 2000 to the lane and the home gate was expected to drop after recent form. So 25,000 is still out far better than your average gate.
How are the tickets going for the Sheffield derby ? they have been sale for near on 8 month and your fellow Owls say you have only sold 20,000!! now that is a poor show ;)
25,000 poor !! your chairman would give up his 3rd portion of chips for a gate like ours.
Ha Ha a mod bringing up attendances ! how many times have we been slaged off for the same? classic Hursty:) the forum must be on its..behind.
Back on topic, the Barnsley game was entertaining, nowt to play for, lots of effort just not so good finishing, we out played Barnsley. they would agree as i would they out played us at theirs. no complaints here.

No, not really, holiday weekend and loads away on holiday, I personally know loads of lads who have taken advantage of the kids being off school and gone away. Just under 25,000 is pretty good in the circumstances.
