Mr Kooky has just inherited a V525 from my dad, which has always worked fine, just dad was getting rid of it after an upgrade.
We've had the phone unlocked (was locked to Vodafone) so Mr K can use his Orange sim in it; this works fine, with no problems. Well, just one...
The problem is, when he makes/receives a call, the only way of hearing the person on the other end is to put it on speakerphone. The speaker in the handset- i.e., the bit you hold to your ear- seems to have become knackered somewhere along the line. I have googled and looked at other forums ( - though they were techie phone ones!) for advice, but no luck. Apart from discovering this has happened to other people.
So 2 questions:
1) Has this happened to anyone else on a V525/V550/V600, how did you fix it?
2) If it comes down to we need to get it repaired, I can't take it to the Vodafone shop now, can I? If not, where do you suggest?

Thanks in advance

just spoke to dad- he says he had this problem too, but just used his Bluetooth headset all the time to get round it! This isn't ideal (esp. as the b'tooth drains the battery quicker) so any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

can anyone recommend a phone shop to get it repaired? I don't think I can take it to Vodafone cos it's been unlocked?

My v600 is unlocked, sent it off to Moto to be repaired, and they fixed it. It came back locked again though :( Had to shell out another £20!

They were pretty good, and it took 5 days between putting it in the post box and having it back in my letter box!

I had a moto V500 and it did the same thing.
In the end we went and got in repaired and had a new speaker put in.
Didn't cost to much! only way to fix it.

Sorry if this has been said, i didn't read all the replies.
