Is this a ghost? (http://www.femail.co.uk/img/pix3/hamptonghostL191203_450x350.jpg) What do you think of this picture is it real or fake?
I think its a good fake nothing more..

I saw the article relating to this - it would be very interesting if it wasn't.

i wonder who says its real lol:P
It’s certainly interesting, but what’s its provenance?
And why do ghosts always look like monks or genteel ladies from a Jane Austin story?

The story behind this one is vaguely like this.
Security guards at Hampton Court - a place reknowned for it's alleged hauntings - had noticed that the fire doors (which are on this picture) open for no reason. No persons were seen around the doors at the time. So lots of trips down there to close them again.
Despite further monitoring through the CCTV, the doors still seemed to open by themselves.
After numerous observations the CCTV finally caught this picture. Aparently around the same time, visitors to that part of the house had reported various sightings of a woman in period clothing and I think 'strange' feelings of a presence.
Cannot remember where I saw the story, could have been anywhere really.

I just copied it and enlarged it.
The very solid looking left hand of the "ghost" is mysteriously pushing the fire door emergency release. The right hand looks to be pulling back having pushed open the other release bar. That's pretty good for a spirit!
Looks like a fake to me - keeps visitors interested and the bored security guards amused.

The original story, from the BBC website is here:

It looks more like a bloke than a woman to me
Perhaps they have a few different ghosts there, and only the man knows how to get the fire doors open?
You dont often get CCTV photos as clear as that, not on crimewatch anyway.
I am convinced it is a genuine photograph, because I cannot imagine why anyone would want to make up such a thing ;) :D

When I saw the footage, the door was being closed, not opened, which the broadcasters seemed to find a bit odd. They seemed to reckon that most ghosts open doors.
I'd love it to be real, but it just doesn't seem likely.
Cosy:P
Maybe it was cold - wouldnt want to catch its death
