I took it to the local computer shop who failed to cure the problem. He told me that it needed a new print head and it just wasn't worth the cost of repair. He recommended another printer which he said you could get on the net for a reasonable price! As I don't use this newEpson every day, I now run a nozzle check every so often to keep the heads clear. I know it wastes ink but it's cheaper than buying a new print head Dave cazza 24-08-2005, 19:41 this printer is used almost every day the problem arose when i used a black cartridge that wasn't epsom make ,was trying to cut down on price when buying 6 cartridges it was pretty expensive each time but it seems i made an expensive mistake. davyboy 24-08-2005, 19:46 Originally posted by cazza this printer is used almost every day the problem arose when i used a black cartridge that wasn't epsom make ,was trying to cut down on price when buying 6 cartridges it was pretty expensive each time but it seems i made an expensive mistake. Thanks for that warning Cazza. I bought a R800 and the 8 cartridges cost almost half the price of a new printer in the box.:gag: Davyboy cazza 24-08-2005, 20:13 some of the cheaper ones i found to be great i have used them in my other printer but the ones that caused the problem were Pro Jet bought from computer fair so beware:suspect: |
