Ok, who has a short age gap between their children? Meaning you got pregnant whilst already having a young baby?
Just curious! :D

How did you cope with a newborn when already having a baby? Was it really hard or did you just get on with it and cope?!!

Yeah you just get on with it. It was quite hard as i could never leave the baby alone with the 1 year old, not even while i went for a wee. And the elder one didn't walk til she was around 15 months or more, so getting them in and out of the car was a pain and took 2 trips, leaving baby in the house as she was strapped into the carrytot thing but i dont regret it. With number 2 & 3 i found it harder, as i didn't drive back then and getting on and off buses with a tandem pram, and a 4 year old was no easy task. By the time I had 4 & 5, I found it much easier to get around with having the car. Apart from the fact that I'm an older mum this time around. I was only 26 when i had the 2 boys, this time around with my little girls I'm now 36, and they're almost 3 & 2.

There are 15 months between my youngest 2. My sister in law has just 11 months between her youngest 2.
If I'm honest I thought it would be really hard work and yeah at times it is but not half as bad as I thought. Maybe that's because there both in a really good routine which helps, also when my youngest was born my son was never jealous which was a great thing. Not sure how they will both cope when no.3 arrives in July though???

A girl I knew (who is the same age as me) had her first child within a week of her 16th birthday (I can't remember whether it was a week before, or a week after.) Seven months after she had her first, she had her second, (yes, he was very premature) and then she managed to have a third baby, ten months after baby number two arrived.

So there she was, seventeen-and-a-half years old, with three babies under 18 months old. That was going some.

My daughter in law had five babies within the space of six-years-and -two-weeks. Eldest turned 10 last week, and the youngest turns four next week.

I know someone with 27 weeks between babies and also a couple who had fraternal triplets, followed 13 months later by a single bay, followed 11 months later by fraternal twins.

Crikey! busy people! :D there is 2 1/2 years between me and my next sister down, and almost 14 between me and the youngest. My aunt went 13 months between my cousins' births. (April 1965, and May 1966.)

My daughter is nearly 6 months. I can't imagine thinking about another baby just yet!! For me this is because I want to enjoy the 2 I have before thinking of another (if we do!). But when things happen I think you always find you cope somehow and I'm sure you will. Congratulations and good luck x

Well it was a bit of a shock, I have been breastfeeding so not had a period but for some reason I had a funny feeling I was pregnant again, so I've now done 4 tests and they all say the same! I'm going on holiday next week and seeing midwife when I get back when I will be 8 weeks gone.
I'm sure we will cope and luckily my OH has a good job and has 2 good payrises in the next 8mths so it will mean I can leave work for a couple of years. Think I will need to be at home to take care of everyone! I am lucky that DS1 is nearly 8 yrs so he is pretty independent and a really good help with the baby.

Haha I just realised my sister in law had a few minutes between the birth of her twins (c sect) does that count?
To all those expecting quickly, it'll be hard work, but nice that your little ones have a playmate!
