Hi,

Just wondered if anyone knows how the Hollin Bush pub get's it's name?

I am looking to buy a house on Hollinsend Rd and went in there last night to check it out. Google'd "Hollin Bush" and it is the only pub that comes up on the entire net with that name (Some called Hollins Bush and obviously Holly Bush etc)

Cannot find what a Hollin Bush is, or is it in reference to it being on Hollinsend Road? All I've found out so far is that it opened in 1881.

Just a wondered if anyone knew

Jay

Isn't hollin an old name for holly?

Not that I can find in dictionaries etc, or even typing "Hollin" into google doesn't find anything

Just look on the sign outside the pub.

Best pint of Stones I've had for years, bit expensive though.
