What sort of lunacy is this? A football club makes its money by providing entertainment; if the product is not entertaining, he'd be an idiot to carry on going.

So all 20,000+ people who were there today decide not to go again - where does that leave your club? You get your chairman slagging fans off for not turning up, no money coming in, can't buy players or pay the wages of the ones you've already got, get in to a relegation battle then it won't matter who your manager is...

Hmmmm, sounds familiar

Exactly. This diehard fan thing is all rubbish and if anyone wants proof of that then just compare the average attendance of Man Utd compared with Darlington. People want to watch the best players and the best teams. I will always support my local team, but I refuse to go and watch the poor standard of play there at the moment.

And how can Man Utd afford the best players - by people paying to watch!

It's a vicious circle.

Nothing to do with the millions of goods they sell each year then?or the multi million £ sponsorship deals? Man U's fanbase is much more profitable outside old traffords gates,Even outside of U.K. So I dont think you can make the same comparison's to our teams,or even 99% of teams for that matter.

All I'm saying is that if people leave during the bad times, how are the club supposed to progress with no support or fanbase?

I'm not blind, I know it's hardly been like watching Brazil this season, but I'll be renewing because, (as said in another thread) for my sins I'm a Blade, and always will be - through the good and the bad.

At least we are in a play-off place and we have a habit of winning play-off finals, which is more than I can say for your lot.
Actually, more looking forward to automatic promotion, given that we are three points from it. Then whipping both sets of pigs next season.

May I ask, who do you support? Charlton?

I want Blackwell out, because I can't stand his interviews :hihi: When I heard him say 'Ap tha Blades', I cringed. Anyhow...I reckon United should go for Coppell.

Coppell, dear God, Blackwells interviews might be cringeworthy but Coppells would be enough to make you fall asleep behind the wheel.

As for our next manager, us Blades love a bit of a nut case, Ian Holloway has to be the man (now Sean O'Driscoll seems to be off the list).

Bassett, Warnock and Kendall, all as mad as a bag o'snakes, i'd take Holloway even if it was just to liven things up a bit.

As we will in the top two, we won't have to worry about the play-offs. Actually I might be more correct about whipping one lot of pigs as your lot are likely to be going down.

A terrible choice, the man has no idea about defensive football.

Funny isn't it, considering he was a defender. Mowbray did a decent job at WBA, but when they kept losing in the Premiership he never seemed bothered, but it could just be his face and accent though :D. He just kept saying 'we'll keep playing like we are doing'. Pretty football is good in theory.....but doesn't necessarily get you the result *cough* Mr Laws.

He had six attackers on the pitch for Celtic the other day.
Even Warnock can't get near that.

not did he used to be a defender but that shouldnt matter to us as we can lose to scunny and anyway we seem to not go a bundle on defenders as we sell them all
