After having been to the Sheffield United Academy, and having read posts on here about other so-called football training for young children, it would seem that there is not much out there in the way of structured football training. I was sorely disappointed with the United Academy, as I did all the hard work. The coaches didn't do anything. I had to go up and ask someone what we were supposed to do!!!! Basically, you just do it all yourself with your child. I thought it would be more organised. I go to Playball which is absolutely fantastic. The two coaches have a structured set of exercises for the kids, so, the parents sit on the sidelines and let someone else do the entertaining!!! Which is what I pay for! I wanted to find something a little bit more football-focused, too, though, so thought the United Academy would be just the ticket. Unfortunately, it is not. Seems there is a real gap in the market for a good, well-organised ball skills training session. Anyone?
