sian1985 27-03-2010, 10:50 I think pets at home do rehomed hamsters thats where we got ours from he was returned for being too big and he's the friendliest hamster i've ever had.

na na naaaa 27-03-2010, 11:24 hello could i have it please...?
Good idea about rehoming an unwanted hamster :). The Pets at home adoption thing usually has hamsters in and the donation you give for the critter goes to other charities as far as I'm aware. If that doesn't work out, how about donating the cage to someone who rescues small critters like hamsters/gerbils etc?
sian1985 27-03-2010, 11:33 We didnt pay for atlas as he was a rescue hamster they were rehoming all we had to do was bring our cage in to prove we had a suitable place for him.

oh im sorry love i jusr presumed they sold them on again lolxx
sian1985 27-03-2010, 11:39 lol No we put a donation in to the dog charity but that was our choice the didnt demand it. that was a couple of years ago. Atlas is fantastic but got too big for the little girl who had him so they brought him back. He is enormous nearly guinea pig size, but so so friendly from day one.

are we on about a hamster here
sian1985 27-03-2010, 11:45 yeah he's just a very large hamster though outgrew the cage we had for him. bless him he barely fit in his tunnels when he was younger. A bit slimmer now he's an old man though
mummysaz21 27-03-2010, 11:52 he sounds fantasticxx
My hammy is a pets at home rehomed hamster. She was sent back for biting (can you see a pattern in the animals I take in!?) She is now closer to 3 years old than 2 and is a cutie. She's not got long left now :(
Starlet83 27-03-2010, 16:25 If you do pop in Mummy they have a little sign up above the animals for rehoming which tells you how much they have raised for local charities and rescues. They have donated to CATS, Helping Hands and Rain Rescue i think. I dont like the place but the rehoming section is a really good idea!
LitleMermaid 27-03-2010, 16:57 I have a sneaking suspicion some of the animals in the rehoming section are just ones that have got a little bit old to be able to sell as cute fluffy babies. Not that I'm cynical about the place or anything :D
I agree LM. Would def rehome from rescue first. Have you tried Helenasq?

I'm sure that's the case too with most of the animals in there:hihi: but I'm just glad that if I can offer one a home the money will go to other rescues instead of Pets at Home.
Helenasq has no hamsters in at the moment (as far as I'm aware)magsie, all the little cuties all got lovely new homes which is fantastic :)

a nice idea but gerbils should not be put in hamster cages
Nox, am pleased that Helenasq has rehomed her hammies. Bet her mum is pleased also! x

Hi Saz, it was at the time when you put a thread on about struggling to pay for all your pets so I didn't fetch him to you as I thought you had enough to cope with at the time.
mummysaz21 27-03-2010, 19:56 i knew there was something love lol cheersxx
