View Full Version : Xbox 360 HD DVD Drives £2.96 @ Blockbuster
Just grabbed a right bargain and xbox 360 hd dvd player for less than £3! Now I know its a deceased format but for an external dvd drive what a cracking price.
Now does anyone know haw to get the remote that comes with it to work in windows?
mr chris 26-03-2010, 13:06 If you can track down a copy of powerdvd 7 ultra (ultra part is important) you'll be able to watch HD DVDs as well.
The remote might be a dead loss, but the cyberlink remote is about £15 with shipping. Make sure it's the silver oblong one, and not the weird curvy version, that's old.
You can also integrate it with windows media player fairly well.
Worth a look.

I do have a remote at the moment its a happauge one but the ir blaster is connected to the TV card via a little pin so I doubt it will work with that (although it has a learn function?) I do also have a usb ir blaster but again unsure if it will work with any of them or if it has to be a microsoft one?

I managed to get the last one at Hillsborough blockbuster, saw the deal on hotuk deals as I have been wanting one for a while and waiting for them to get cheaper, but at £2.95 I doubt they will get any lower.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on drive is a cheap way to start enjoying HD DVD movies. But the add-on drive has one feature that is most exciting for us PC users, one that Microsoft (for whatever reason) does not like to publicize (although they do provide drivers for it) - the Xbox 360 add-on drive can actually be used as an external HD DVD drive under Windows XP.
