Has anyone had their rabbit's teeth filed back? Have noticed Mookie's have started to cross at the front.
Do they do it under anasthetic? (Not really wanting to do that if possible)

Not sure about having teeth filed but could you increase her hay intake and maybe find some [fruit] tree branches? They love to nibble the bark off and it helps to keep their teeth trim.

I would imagine they'd do it under anaesthetic, don't think they could keep their mouth open long enough without.
I got mine a willow toy to gnaw on.
Its best to check with a vet as if they can't eat , they go into GI stasis very quickly, teeth need to checked out or even removed if theres a big problem with them. Otherwise pelleted food and hay is the best way to keep teeth down , you can also get sticks in the pet shop for them to gnore on.
Just got back from the vets ... yep she says her front teeth were overgrown but not particularly bad .. her molar on the right side is a little overgrown too but she thinks the front one may be the problem so she snipped it off there and then for me and told me to keep an eye on her over the next few days to make sure she's eating .. if not they will tackle the molars, but as it's general anasthetic she hopes to avoid this.
Both buns already have hafl a bucket of fresh hay a day and various chewing toys .. Mookie used to rub her teeth up and down the bars of the pen but funnily enough hasnt been doing it for a while ...
Fingers crossed this will sort it ...
She says to try babyfood - specially the vegetables ones if I think she needs a quick fix ...

If you are sringe feeding you would be better using pellets wet!!! as these contain all the rabbits need , baby food is ok but remember its cooked veg baby food , I think we were told by Anita at hunterbar vets to feed fruit like apple and pear , but not cooked veg ones .
Glad the vets snipped the problem.
Cheers Teeny. Mookie behaved very well, but farted in my face as I held her for the vet to look at her teeth ! (She loves me!) Then she sat in her carrier thumping so loud everyone thought it was a dog !
