I'm pleased to say that the dog has now been found and re-united with his owner. Despite being hit by a car, he's only got superficial cuts and bruises and is absolutely fine.

A greyhound was run over outside my surgery in Chapeltown North Sheffield this afternoon after slipping its lead. The dog was apparently hit for sure, but it bolted so the extent of injuries are unclear.
It is a male dog, it is black with a white stripe over part of its head/back. If anyone sees it could you please call me at work on **** so I can let the owner know where he was seen? Even better, if you can get hold of him I will collect him!
I have let all the dog men know at the local track so people are keeping their eyes out.

I go home through Chapeltown usually so I will keep my eyes peeled later.

Ooh these greyhounds do seem to like to give their owners shock every now and then don't they? so glad that he was found and is ok :)

My greyhound went missing the other day its a terrifying thing to happen. Im glad the accident wasnt too serious.
