View Full Version : Michael Jacksons Best Song
After purchasing MJ's latest greatest hits album 'Essential collection' - I know that most of the songs have appeared on his other albums, which one is your favourite?
Before you guy's start moaning to me about MJ - his personal life, hype, problems etc . . . it's just a light thread about your choice of SONG! :P
OOhhh that's a difficult one, said yes in my head to each one, now I'm stuck for a favorite.:suspect:
Don't think I can narrow it down to 1, all his music is fab.
banesmabes 23-08-2005, 17:50 It was a close call between Billie Jean and Don't Stop Til You Get Enough - but I just love the disco sound, so Don't Stop just pipped it. I do think Bille Jean is a masterpeice though! I also like Shake Your Body.
SpiderPete 23-08-2005, 17:54 Well this is a tough one..
I grew up listening to "Dont stop till you get enough" for me one of his best songs.
"Remember the time" is a great video and song.
Also like "Beat it" as well.
For me his best song ever will be "Can You Feel It" with the Jacksons
But since this is a MJ one ... has to be "Bille Jean"
Others that are good : She`s Out of My Life, Liberian Girl and Thriller.
steevie/d 23-08-2005, 18:15 did he sing 2 little boys oh no that was rolf harris :D my vote goes to blame it the boogie
BoroughGal 23-08-2005, 18:16 I replied "Beat it" cos it's skill. then I saw Billie Jean. Now I don't know what to say.

dont forget that eddie van halen played the axe on beat it and that for me is enough for me to pick that song as one of wackos best moments:)
The only one i like is I Just Can't Stop Loving You.
I picked "Blame it on the Voices (er, I mean Boogie)"
It's funny how 'Thriller' was his biggest hit to date but alot of people prefer the other tracks. I voted for Billie Jean myself - the Motown 25 dance will never be outdone - EVER!
SpiderPete 23-08-2005, 19:23 Yes I agree the Motown 25th will always be in my mind for his Bille Jean and the famous walk

MJ did the same routine at his concert in Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield a few years ago. He came on stage and walked up to a briefcase - no-one knew what he was going to do, he opened it and pulled out that famous glitter cardigan and the crowd erupted.
Then came the hat . . . and finally the shiny glove! as soon as the famous beat started people were going crazy. When he finally did the moonwalk it was absolute sheer magic - right across the stage!! . . . wow what a night that was!

Someone needs to lighten up and see humour where it exists.
I see no reason to have had a post with this link (http://www.ebaumsworld.com/flash/michael-jackson-never-copped-a-feel.html) deleted.

I asked for it to be deleted because it was 'light-hearted' links like this that have gotton so many of my previous threads about MJ deleted and people have hi-jacked them to tell unacceptable jokes.
Thats why I specifically asked for no cr*p about his personal problems or silly links etc . . . Hope this explains it abit clearly to you.
SpiderPete 23-08-2005, 19:49 Lestat : how come you can have more than 10 songs in your poll ??
My Madonna one has thrown up songs I didn`t pick - tis not fair :(
you've not listed 'Ben'....!

Very clear, thank you.
If you re-read your original post however, you did not "specifically" ask for such links not to be posted.
Personally, I admire MJ for his music and am not shy to say that I have most of his albums in my collection.
However, his problems in the courts cannot be ignored and will always surface in any thread which chooses to discuss his music.
redrobbo 23-08-2005, 20:17 I voted for Billie Jean, 'cos I don't know the other tennis stars in this poll! :suspect: :hihi:
SpiderPete 23-08-2005, 20:20 OMG are they doing ths same in this poll as what was mine.
Crikey cannot people not pick a choice from the 10 without having to post stupid comment.
<yes you can guess there is anger in my typing> :D
BEAT IT.... coz although im a michael jackson fan...im also a rock fan.. and combining him with the master of EDDIE VAN HALEN on lead guitar and TOTO being his backing band for the whole of the thriller album (little known fact for you there....they even wrote Human Nature for him) it just has it all for me.
Billie Jean for me
Excellent song
A.B.Yaffle 24-08-2005, 01:13 I voted for "Billie Jean", as "I'm The Leader Of the Gang", "Everyone's Gone To The Moon", and "I Believe I Can Fly" were missing from the poll.
mojoworking 24-08-2005, 05:55 How about cover versions?
I bet Michael would love to get his hands on Two Little Boys
(if Rolf doesn't mind, that is) ;)
Ousetunes 24-08-2005, 07:34 Personally I always liked Dirty Diana, but I also rate songs like She's Out Of My Life and One Day In Your Life very highly.
Beat It is a stand out track, taking me straight back to 1983. Likewise Can You Feel It (Jacksons) is still brill as is 1979's Don't Stop Till You Get Enough which they used to play at Concorde WMC (I went a couple of times in that year).
Of late, and despite the hype regarding Wacko being Jesus, I like The Earth Song.
As anyone who purchased the Essential Collection will know, MJ songs are incredibly well-written, beautifully sung and abs0-blummin-incredibly well produced.
'Paul, I'm a lover not a fighter' sez Wacko to Thumbsaloft in The Girl In Mine!!
Lickable 24-08-2005, 08:19 My fav is Dirty Diana, but its not on the list. PAH!

There would have been too many to list though Lickable, I also love:
Jam.
Why you wanna trip on me.
In the closet.
Who is it?.
Gone too soon.
Basically the whole of the 'Dangerous' album.
whats your fave extended mix of wackos then lestat ? mines scream and black and white , ive also got a moby remix of beat it whats well worth a spin:)
A.B.Yaffle 24-08-2005, 12:21 One of my favourite MJ songs is "Whatever Happens", but I don't think it was released as a single.
slimsid2000 24-08-2005, 13:47 You haven't got 'Two Little Boys' up there. Oh wait, that was Rolf Harris wasn';t it.:hihi:
BoroughGal 24-08-2005, 14:01 Bit late with this Sid...

d_spreadlove 24-08-2005, 15:12 Hi,
May I just say some superb suggestions already put forward. I voted for 'Don't stop till you get enough', true genius and the video to go with it was M.J at his very best. With alcohol always guaranteed to make me believe I can actually dance!
My other choices had they been included would have been:
'Wanna be startin something'
'Burn this disco out'
'Rock with you'
'Off the wall'
'The girl is mine'
Although if the Jacksons/J5 were included I'd go for:
'Dancing machine'
'Love you save'
Now where did I put my black hat and diamond glove?
Spreadlove.

Whatever happen's! pure class, with Santana on guitar. It's a beautiful song with a haunting melody, it wasn't released because of MJ's dealings with Sony going down the pan. He only ever released 'You rock my world' and 'Cry' off the 'Invincible' album.

panda - I've also got the black or white remix cd, love it. My favourite is the 2bad mix by the Fugees on the 'History in the mix' album.
Also, have you heard the trance version of Earth Song! it's excellent.
SpiderPete 24-08-2005, 17:10 Nice to see "Billie Jean" doing well
Also like "Rember The Time" Razormaid mix
"Thriller" - the Xmix vs DMC TrackMaster dj2002 edi mix
"Billie Jean" - 2002 Bushwackas mix
I might go play them now.
Agent Gypo 24-08-2005, 18:15 LESTAT - where's Wanna Be Starting Somethin? I'd vote then

No it's not an import, just a rare original remix CD. It's got 5 remixes of Black or White on it - none of Remember the time though.
Man in the Mirror, oh yeah
Do you remember the video for Leave me alone, also a classic but the fairground falling off him had to be my favourite memory of his videos as a kid
Need to give this thread a good old bump - as the trend has exploded somewhat !
Moonwalker 01-09-2005, 21:21 Billie Jean has to right up there. I personally love that and Smooth Criminal but hey I can't be greedy can I l:heyhey:
