Does anyone know what the cheapest monthly anytime/off peak package is? BT? Freeserve? AOL? Not really bothered about broadband unless anyone thinks its amazing and worth the extra money?

I have boredband, sorry Broadband, from PlusNet (www.plus.net) (a local company) and it works fine. I think it's worth the extra cash.

You might like to check this thread (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?threadid=1317) for some more opinions.

Personally, I use NTL's "Freedom" package: www.ntlfreedom.com

£15 per month for unmetered access (disconnects every 2 hours though) but that includes £15 of phone calls. Uses your existing BT line.

I use to find Freeserve the best. I don't have a BT line in Sheffield though, so have to use AOL.

This is the best value for money you can get, because you generally use £15 of calls anyway and you get unmetered internet thrown in.

Tiscali do a form of cut-down broadband, it is always on, frees up your line and runs at 128K. It is only £16. My friend has it and is very pleased. Go here (http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/build/index.html?code=ZZ-NL-11GK) for more.

Don't forget free-online ! www.free-online.net

F9, PlusNet [ www.plus.net] and FOL are all owned by the same company....

Worked there for 2 years and even though they made me redundant i can honestly say they are great as an ISP :D
