View Full Version : Cafe Masala take away - can anyone recommend it? Chafo 24-03-2010, 13:25 Has anyone had a curry from here and would you recommend it? I recently received their take away leaflet through my letter box and am fancying a curry thid weekend :D HarrietStar 24-03-2010, 13:32 Yes I can recommend it, we usually get a curry from there once a month or so - I like the curries and there's quite a good range/choice. Usual price of about £5 for a main dish on average. Susie 24-03-2010, 13:42 the currys are some of the best ive tasted, however the service leaves little to be desired, a few times we have been waiting 2 hours for it to be delivered, this sunday we had one guy deliver and he refused to come to the door, said the guy who works on reception wasnt there, so my husband went to meet him, he wasnt there, 10 minutes later he rang to say he had got to reception and when my husband went again and asked him why he had lied about the guy on reception he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didnt lie, the building was too big to come to the door... its never stopped other deliverys coming to my first floor flat grrrr. MuteWitness 24-03-2010, 13:42 Have a look on Justeat website they are on there and they have reviews. scottf 24-03-2010, 13:44 the currys are some of the best ive tasted, however the service leaves little to be desired, a few times we have been waiting 2 hours for it to be delivered, this sunday we had one guy deliver and he refused to come to the door, said the guy who works on reception wasnt there, so my husband went to meet him, he wasnt there, 10 minutes later he rang to say he had got to reception and when my husband went again and asked him why he had lied about the guy on reception he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didnt lie, the building was too big to come to the door... its never stopped other deliverys coming to my first floor flat grrrr. You make them come upto the flat?? you lazy buggers :hihi::hihi: Susie 24-03-2010, 13:45 hehe I know its shameful isnt it scottf 24-03-2010, 13:47 get yourself downstairs to collect it- them stairs will do you good before you pig away ;) :hihi: medusa 24-03-2010, 14:06 We've never had any problems with them and would recommend them. One of their delivery guys is too scared of dogs to come to the front door (we have a German Shepherd and the sign on the gate does inform people of this) but he called from the car to ask us to go to him, which was fine by us. Chafo 24-03-2010, 14:50 Thank you. I particularly liked Susie's comments :-) I will have a peek at the Justeat website. WarPig 24-03-2010, 15:55 Where abouts is the Masala please mike84 24-03-2010, 19:44 Check the scores on the doors website that checks food hygiene practice at restaurants / take aways etc. The last time I had a menu through I checked and they scored 0 out of 5. Not being able to achieve the basic bare minimum food hygiene requirement put me off. Because of this I never ordered so can't comment on the food. They may have been re-checked since I checked it out. Some people dont mind, are happy and enjoy the food they have. Not for me I'm afraid. ericsean 24-03-2010, 19:46 Ive had loads of currys from there, and ive not really had a bad one. The hotter the better. :gag: jfoe 24-03-2010, 20:09 started well a few years ago and faded a bit. i would collect from butlers or rajput instead. |
