Hi
My 2 year-old son doesn't get to see his dad as often as I'd like, and I'm keen to give him positive contact with men. We go to lots of singing / gym / play groups, but they're all women-led. Does anyone know of a group taught by a man? Doesn't really matter what's being taught - it's more that he gets to see a male face regularly. Ideally in S6 / S10.
Thanks!
i think there is a group called playball over that side of sheffield which is run by an ex-rugby player - e-mail address is playballyorkshire@googlemail.com if you want more info. They do various ball skills and general running around.

I don't know about Sheffield but here in C/field Sure Start have stay and play classes for Dads. Why don't you check on the Sure Start website?
I don't know if a nursery would be useful to you but the Sheffield Children's Centre have a high ratio of male staff working with the over 2s.

Thanks for your replies!
Not sure how welcome we'd be at a dad's group though - I think most dads already feel other groups are too woman-centric - probably wouldn't want one encroaching on their father-toddler time!
That nursery sounds great, but my son's already settled in one (sadly with no male staff at all - such a shame). I wouldn't want to move him now. Wish I'd known before.
Have rung Playball though! So there's a start :)
