View Full Version : Anyone going to the World cup final?
I've got myself a ticket for the World cup final (hopefully watching England play) and was wondering if there were anybody else with a ticket.
I was originally going with my brother and mate but that fell through due to finances and such so now I'm goin on my own.
I'm a little concerned as Johannesberg is not the safest city in the world and figured it might be a good idea to see if there were others in a similar situation.
Cheers

jammy git!
Lucky you! Don't think you're at any more risk in Johannesburg than in any other city as long as you're sensible, and there'll be a lot of extra security :)
Bayern Blade 23-03-2010, 09:44 Well done but I doubt very much you'll be watching us play, quarter finals and out as usual I reckon.
hurstyowl 23-03-2010, 09:51 did your brother etc have tickets also? if they did then couldn't they sell them to someone and you just go with them?

Yes, sorry, welcome to the forum (you're still an absolute c**t for having tickets, of course. Have the other ones gone now?)

LOOOL, yeah thanks for the welcome Millhouses 24
The ticket process was done by a kind of lottery from FIFA but the money for the ticket had to be available when you signed up and it was at this point that everybody abondoned the idea (when they realised the cost) except for me.
When I originally requested the ticket, it was for the Tier 1 seats you see, which were around £800 each and right next to the pitch, but the ticket I actually received in the lottery draw was a Tier 3 seat in the stands, a much cheaper £250 (Still bloody expensive though)
So of course this has left me in the predicament of travelling in a city that the media are reporting is becoming more and more unstable and expected to get worse on the run up to the World Cup!
Starting to think that maybe I should have gone to Vegas instead, but the ticket is now in my name only and is only picked up when I show my passport at the Soccer Stadium so no going back now.
But if England Do get to the final and as long as I'm not shot down by the Soweto boyz n the hood then hopefully it will all be worth it

Where does a bloke living in Shregreen find £800 to watch a football match? Are you a drug dealer? ;):hihi:

B*tch! Ahem...
No just an understanding bank manager hehe
hi mate
any chance you are selling the other 2 tickets or at least 1 of them.
i have england tickets but none for the final and would gladly swap the first england game for a ticket for the final or pay cash whichever you prefer.
i will be in south africa from june 2nd for the whole tournement so could meet up anywhere. Fifa allow name changes and this should be available online soon.
Let me know if fancy selling any.
Cheers
