when walking him or her?

Right, purely cause I'm right handed.

We were told at dog training to always go on the left. However with multiple dogs i use both hands.
If i'm walking one dog he always walks on the side away from traffic.

Either side is ok unless of course you use the dreaded "choke chain" when the side the dog walks on is critical because there is a right and a wrong way for one of these collars to be worn. It must be on correctly for the side the dog walks on and he must always walk that side. In inexperienced hands the choke chain is at best, useles, and at worst painfull and dangerous.

I'd prefer Molly to be on the left, but she arrived with the firm opinion that she was meant to be on the right. On the left she's panicky, twitchy and pulls- then at the first sign of an opportunity she runs round the back of my legs and reappears as a happy and relaxed girly, knowing where she should be, next to my right leg.

Mostly left if i just have one as thats were they were both taught to walk. They both walk on either side though. Same as wilman, if its a particularly busy road they walk on the inside (both together). My usual place is my oldest on the left as hes decided that where he's always walked while my little one will happerly walk on either side so shes generally on the right

You shouldn't walk a dog on check chain anyway. Its a training aid - if the dog needs it on permanently then thay aren't trained so try another method.
If a dogs choking itself on a check chain - you haven't trained the dog correctly, so try something else; quickly.

Sampson my new doggy seems to like both. He pulls a bit too especially when we first go out lol

Tess tends to walk on whichever side i put her on, if i have the pram i keep the pram away from the road so she would walk on the the side nearer the road - but shes reallly good on either side and stays close to my heel.

Zeb starts off on the left, but isn't too good at walking to heel, so he tends to meander a bit!!! :hihi:

Takara on the left, Eddy and Bubble on the right. Takara knows 'swap' to swap to the other side if I need her to but obviously we don't do this when I have all 3 of them!!

Left, Years ago that was how it was done at the training class I went to and for some odd reason thats how I decided I would walk my dog now, old habits die hard :hihi:
