not too up on these engines but the water leak could be a core plug thats leaking
clutch slip sounds like crankshaft oil seal has perished and is leaking oil into bellhousing and all over clutch
sounds like the plugs and points could do with checking/cleaning and also the fuel mixture could need tweeking a bit
hope this helps but its all guess work without seeing the car in front of me

I guess you gone bought another one lol.
Think you will find tonyp5467 is correct on core plug if you remove centre carpet and remove centre fibre panel you will beable to see the plug only a 2 min job once you get too it.
It could be the gear box shaft seal but yes think you will find its the engine crank seal good news is it comes off in its own housing so again only a few mins to do bad news is prop/gear box clutch OFF.
The engine stop start problem way you describe it sounds like dirt or water in fuel system first i would fit a inline filter to fuel line robbins normaly have them in most cases regal do,s not.If its the solex not so bad but im guessing its going to be Zenith if so remove filter/top of carb think theres about 6 screws tap the top slightly to one side or the gaket may break 50/50 realy it will or it wont break lift top off clean chamber out you will see a stupid jet that hangs over into inlet pull it out blow down it to see if its blocked run i fine bit of wire through to clean it there such a pain i used to alter the little sods.
Not sure but think ive still got complete gaskets set for those Zenith not sure about Solex maybe.
I always used to stuff a bit of rag into inlet just incase i drop any screws just dont forget to take it out lol.
Just to add it may also be your heater box horse.s one from cylinder head runs accross rear of head

If you mean that one under bench there all brand new valves but no idea what they are for now just mounted up over years could be from anything.
